  1. I couldn't stop smiling while watching Twin Peaks tonight. Pure Lynch heroin. I know that a lot of fans of the show, especially the people who watched it during its original run, are hesitant about the new season so far because it's not like the show. This new season has more in common with Lynch's films, especially his early work and shorts. This episode is a perfect example of that. I think that once a certain thing happens, the show will go back to 'normal'.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 08:45 AM) Transformers wasn't quite as bad as expected... https://www.vox.com/summer-movies/2017/6/23...ense?yptr=yahoo By far the best part of the movie was any scene with Laura Haddock. She's quite feisty. Except you can be pretty sure no Cambridge prof wears 5" stiletto heels or shows so much cleavage. The biggest issue I have is sexualizing a 15-16 year old Peruvian actress, Isabela Moner. It was a fun time.
  3. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) There's like 3 weeks left of filming. Hopefully he doesn't need to do too much. He has to if he's going to get any credit and get a slice of the residuals.
  4. I honk this thread is ridiculous. As someone said, you're worried about the team's young shortstop, who didn't start playing baseball till he was 17/18 in the first year of a rebuild?
  5. Pretty big news, regarding Han Solo 'Star Wars': Han Solo Film Loses Directors - The Hollywood Reporter https://apple.news/A5AvZmor_Qz2N0PoTwJk-9g
  6. Avi for Reyes could make sense. Don't know if the Cardinals would offer much more.

  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 04:22 PM) That would mean a $1 billion film...as the costs ran to $325-345 million including marketing, p&a. Sitting on about $60 million going into its second weekend in China, where the Alien film is eventually out. Wonder Woman around $70 million, because not a known property here, but the reception of those who watch it is obviously very positive. I'm talking about straight production budget. I haven't read the article in it's entirety yet. I know the listed budget is $125M which isn't a lot for a movie like this but some people have been throwing around $200M+. The Mummy could be another Interstellar and by that I mean that this could be a rare case where the top talent (Nolan/Cruise) makes more than the studio. Keep in mind that Interstellar was a joint production. I think people need to careful and not just look at the domestic box office before they call things a flop. Look at WarCraft.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 15, 2017 -> 04:45 PM) I went to China as part of an economic study group for 12 days. How long is she there and what city or cities will she be in? Chongquing
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 6, 2017 -> 06:58 PM) I need Baby Driver in my life like now, it sure as s*** looks like Edgar Wright went full Edgar Wright and I am 100% down. There's screening next Thursday at the AMC on Illinois St. I would call and see if they still have passes.
  11. Saw the Mummy and wow, it's horrible. One of the most disappointing movies I've seen in a while. I was really excited for it and the whole Dark Universe franchise, I still am but this was just a complete mess. I saw a poster before I saw it and noticed that's there's 6 writers credited, you can tell they all worked separately by how they're credited and that's never a good sign. I hated Jake Johnson's character and how he was used. The movie tried to do and be multiple things and failed at all of them. I think all the talk about Tom Cruise's career being in jeopardy is extremely overblown. Yes this is a bad movie but it's not a flop. It'll probably make its budget back three times. Plus Tom Cruise has American Made out in September, which looks great and has a couple other movies in the pipeline which all sound interesting. I was really hoping he would be Slade Wilson, but that's for another time.
  12. Would extending Kahnle to a team friendly deal (like Nate Jones) and buying out his arb years, make him more valuable?
  13. QUOTE (BamaDoc @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 11:40 AM) Surprised by the lack of high schoolers overall. Thought they had stated a desire to take many. Smokescreen? I think that they're securing the foundation of the system and adding some much needed depth with college guys. So that when they draft that raw prep player, it won't be such a blow if they don't work out. Does that make sense?
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 09:25 AM) Bryce Montes de Oca is still on the board. Sox drafted him out of high school as their backup plan to Rodon. They've been keeping an eye on him, that I know. Might they draft him again? He is eligible. Had TJS, high risk profile, but lots of ceiling. Washington just picked him
  15. Matt Albers gives up a three run shot to Tyler Flowers. Nats were up 9-8, now down 11-9 in the ninth.
  16. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 07:08 PM) Scouts think he has the speed and range for CF. Changes things
  17. Was Trout the last prep guy the Angles drafted in the first round?
  18. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 07:02 PM) Anyone but these two, please. Can't believe I said it either.
