  1. If you're not willing to include (one of) your top prospects no deal
  2. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Feb 7, 2017 -> 04:08 PM) I will be beta testing for OOTP 18 so I will throw down some ratings from our farm + trade scenarios for Q during some sims. Will post them here! I am pre-ordering it tomorrow
  3. .274/.331/.390 8HR, 40RBI, 24SB I think he could be something under Renteria
  4. "Good, that can only lead to more losses. #1 pick in the draft... HERE WE COME!" ^What I thought to myself as I read this article
  5. While I don't agree with his ranking, I think Law having Moncada at 17 is sobering. And something that fans need to year, so we can be reminded that not all prospects pan out. A lot of Sox fans have been Moncada the savior of the franchise but let's not forget that he's a 21 old kid. Who knows where is development will take him.
  6. Moncada, Kopech, Espinoza, (The Good) Basabe, Guerra and Margot are just some of the prospects that the Red Sox have traded since Dave Dombrowski took over the club.
  7. I have been banging the Perez drum for a while, he is a must to me in any deal with Houston. I think he will have the type of helium that Kopech has now next year, he reminds of me Jose Fernandez.
  8. For those who like the Braves as a trade partner, I have to ask how much do you like Kevin Maitan because while he's far away he has to be in any deal in my opinion.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 12:49 PM) I'm not doubting you, but could you post some links about the 2018 draft? It would be interesting to read about. I'm also on the side where I think its a little silly to get stuck on one player who is still 2 full college seasons away from being drafted. Look up Joe Gray, Brice Turang and Jarred Kelenic.
  10. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 07:48 PM) Uh, noooooooo. Not ready to "trust" the Sox' brain trust just yet. Don't forget, the reason for the need for this rebuild is the abject failure of the team at both the Major and minor league level the past eight years for which the current front office is responsible. "Trust" is the last thing they've earned. Now "guarded optimism", based on the encouraging early results of the rebuild, that feels the more appropriate approach to take with this front office. I am going to go ahead and give some good faith and will to this new version of the front office. It's clear who's running the shots now.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 05:56 PM) Just an FYI but Keith Law doesn't think Beer is the top prospect for his draft year I dont either after talking to people and seeing some of the other guys in that class.
  12. Who would you guys comp Collins to?
  13. Still shooting, so will not be able to make back to town in time
  14. Since I'm not going to Soxfest, I would like to visit ST this year. I'm working on something till the middle of February, I'll post my plans when I know I can definitely make it out
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 10:57 AM) There is a difference between the Cubans and Latin Americans in general when it comes to international signings. Typically the Cuban players are better exposed and have much actual playing experience, while the LA kids are essentially kept on lockdown and pretty much just taught to show off for their trainers showcases. The Cuban kids are a clearer commodity, which allows them to be a better bet than their LA counterparts, even at a similar age. And a lot of deals in the DR and Venezuela are made in advance of the kid's cycle when they're 14 years old.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 02:53 PM) With the new rules, isnt this next July 2nd period a hard cap? Finally.
  17. If it's not Cuba, the Dominican or Venezuela, information on J2 kids is hard to find. I'll try to see if there's more stuff out there about this kid.
  18. Alien is one of my favorite movies of all time, my aunt took me to see that and Aliens when I was a kid but with that being said I'm skeptical on this new movie. I would've preferred to see Noomi Rapace come back in a lead role and have the film immediately follow Prometheus, but I really do like Katherine Waterson. The thing that has me worried the most is Ridley Scott, he hasn't made a great or really good movie since Gladiator/Black Hawk Down and there's a lot of meh in his filmography. And a lot of bad as of late. I know he started the franchise but I would prefer to see someone else make this, like Blase Runner 2049.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 25, 2016 -> 09:37 AM) Finally gave Suicide Squad and BvS a watch. Suicide Squad wasn't great but I at least found it entertaining. BvS I thought was hot garbage though. You probably watched the theatrical version, get your hands on the Zack Snyder cut. If you didn't like MoS or hated the threatical cut of BvS I can't see you being warm to it but it's way better and was received as such. Also there's a lot of JL stuff too in the Zack Snyder cut. No cameos or anything but some plot points and stuff.
  20. If they Pirates want Q, they have to get pony up and be willing to part with a guy like Meadows in addition to Glasnow. The same goes for the Astros and Yankees and whoever else is interested. I hope the Sox remain active on the Quintana front but I would start looking to deal guys on 1/2 year deals like Frazier, Melky and Robertson as we head into the new year.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) Question to fill the time: Who would you guys rather have, Blake Rutherford or Kyle Tucker? ' Tucker and I don't think it's close. His bat speed is unreal
  22. Really wanted the Sox to get Hudson back. Hopefully the Sox can do something to get Meadows in the deal, who I've always been big on, although I understand how unlikely that it.
