Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals per Rosenthal

QUOTE (South Sider @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 11:16 AM) Mark Zuckerman @MarkZuckerman 6m6 minutes ago Sense here this morning is #WhiteSox are comfortable dragging out Sale talks, want to see if any other clubs can top #Nats offer. Yup. Typical Hahn move, he never makes a deal to make to a deal, he lets the market come to him. -

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 11:40 AM) I know he got injured, but I was very surprised that the White Sox passed on Kyle Lewis for Collins. Time will tell, but I really liked his power Rutherford is a long way off making the majors, his ETA is 2020. That was too far out for the Sox to consider drafting him I think I like Rutherford a lot too (not as much as Moniak), he really suffered from severe prospect fatigue. -

QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 10:44 PM) Ok, busy with grad school work and not a huge follower of prospects, but someone pull me back from the edge. Why are Robles (who had an OPS of .741 in his stint at A+) and Giolito (a guy with a 2.73 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in the minors) the leading prospects for the second best lefty in MLB? How the hell does that beat Benintendi, Bregman or Urias? Maybe I'm being too harsh. Those MiLB stats just seem underwhelming. And our history with prospects doesn't inspire me to think we'll develop them into something more. Stop bringing up the Sox's history with developing position players if you're not going to acknowledge the fact that they have a new Scouting Director and an almost entirely new player development department. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 12:54 PM) That is very nice to see. Keep the end of the bench sharp when they can. The Spurs do this regularly.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 24, 2016 -> 12:34 AM) Or Ezra Miller? I wonder who he's going to be but I wish he would stop playing the 'disturbed kid' role. All the reporters that visited the JL set said that he's hilarious and is going to steal the movie, so hopefully he does more stuff like that. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 12:10 PM) They (kinda cheaply) threw a curveball on that by I don't think it counts either because as the aliens said, "There is no time."

Yankees Release RHP Eovaldi but not that interesting b/c had TJS
Boopa1219 replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would like it if the Sox were to sign him but he's missing all of the upcoming season. Maybe they can come to sign him to the minimum for the upcoming season and for $5M-$7M for 2018. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 12:11 PM) There is a zero chance that any Chris Sale deal doesn't involve liberal input from not only Kenny Williams, but JR as well. Bregman, I would move him to second and the team should have their middle infield locked up for the foreseeable future. Package of Bregman, Springer, Tucker, Whitely and another low level prospect would have me interested. I would look to flip Springer for more prospects at the deadlinehttp://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=101133&st=150&gopid=3450708 -
I know these are teenagers but I think that they should be banned for life from the game. As harsh as that sounds it fits the crime.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 04:52 PM) Thought Dr Strange was a tad lackluster. Can't put my finger on it. A tad incoherent with all the mythology. It was fine but just one of the weaker Marvel movies to me. Really? I loved it! I'd put it up there with Guardians and the solo Captain America flicks as the best Marvel films. I actually think its one of the better movies of the year period.

I loved Fantastic Beast, in my opinion the best Harry Potter (related) film since Azkaban. Although I enjoyed the movie, I really hate that a certain actor is not coming back for the remainder of the franchise. This actor in my opinion was the best thing about the entire movie, I do like the actor that replaced him but I don't think they can do menacing quite like the original actor did. Moonlight is fantastic, very timely movie for the black community and discussions about masculinity. A lot of parts of the film hit home and I know tons of characters like the one's represented in the film. I keep on recommending the film to every other black person that I come across but you don't need to be black or gay/queer for that matter to appreciate this movie, it is very universal. I applaud the movie for avoiding the typical tropes. Going to see Nocturnal Animals tonight!

Four year control guys off the table(JQ,Nate,Eaton)
Boopa1219 replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The article never said that guys with 4+ years of control are off the table. -
I'll go into more detail later but I want a team that is fundamentally sound, athletic and geared towards taking walks and wearing down pitch counts. And pitchers that can light it up.

For people calling out for new blood the org. has brought in quite a bit of it in the past few seasons.
-
I think that teams should be allowed to carry 26 players but have an inactive roster spot. So its game one of the season and my inactive player is my game 2 starter, its game two of the season and my inactive player is my game one starter for example.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 10:31 AM) I think Koenig is a new addition to the front office and his position may even be a new one. Strittmatter has been with the club for like a half a decade or so and he's more video and information collecting than anything having to do with metrics but with the promotion and ND connection with Fabian, it wouldn't surprise me if he moved over to analytics. I am sure you know that Dan Fabian created the portal for the White Sox analytics but they will not talk about their metrics. Hahn claims it's proprietary material and they can't divulge any information towards it. I think SSS interview Fabian a few years back and that's probably the only information on the White Sox use of analytics and even that is just basic stuff you can assume yourself. Yeah I know about the portal and the interview. It's funny that you said that the team will not talk about their metrics because in that exact interview Fabian says that the team would rather have people think that they're a backwards thinking organization. I am just curious to know what they're doing with that department in regards to hires and restructuring if some has taken place. I am pretty positive that Keonig is in a newly created position because that has never been listed before on the website.
-
I was reading the article about the revamped player development staff on WhiteSox.com and I went to the front office page to see if they updated it and I noticed a couple new positions and names regarding their analytics department. It was to my understanding that Dan Fabian, senior director of baseball operations, was in charge of the org's analytic efforts but if you scroll down you see Matt Koenig, as director of baseball analytics and Dan Striittmatter as coordinator of baseball information. Does anyone with some insight know what the team is doing in regards to metrics? These are definitely new positions in the org (at least publicly) and it's nice to see the Sox take a step forward in that area. I mean just look at the state of the org since Hahn took over as GM, the INTL department is back and going strong, the team is drafting well and developing players better and now it's starting to move further into analytics. (Sorry if this makes no sense, I literally worked all day)

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 07:28 PM) Please elaborate. I do not like any of their position player prospects outside of Bellinger and they lack high-end arms outside of Alvarez, you could call De Leon a high end arm but I think that is a reach. With that being said, I can take Bellinger (who I just started feverishly researching) and Alvarez but that is nowhere near enough for Sale. They're not going to give up Seager, so they would need to get a third team involved.

I really dislike the Dodgers prospects for the Sox, a third team would have to get involved
