QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 06:58 PM) #12 for now, but I think he'll switch to #7 at some point. I expect this will happen next year, so Im going to wait to buy the jersey

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 02:06 PM) Yes but looking at the talented athletes the Sox have drafted haven't done with well. That doesn't mean you stop drafting them, it means you change how you develop them.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 07:37 AM) Don't really care about Collins' 40 time or his vertical at this point. The White Sox drafted a baseball player, not some athlete they are hoping to turn into one. Being an athlete always helps

If the White Sox were still surging and needed a boost, I would be all for calling up Tim Anderson to provide a spark for a winning team. Key word in that... winning. The Sox have been showing no signs of life for the past three weeks and there's no reason for Anderson to be in Chicago for a team that's going nowhere. I still think we will be on the ML later this year but its looking like September, instead of right after the ASB like I first thought

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 05:22 PM) Sox know Reynolds very well. I don't know if they like him, but they've seen him and a lot at that. Probably from when they were scouting Fulmer, I would imagine

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) A month or two ago, wasn't Blake sitting as a hot pick for 1.1? Yes, he is/has been getting nick picked on his game, he's suffering from the ultimate case of prospect fatigue. Has been in the spotlight for a long time

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) Well you certainly have. Talk about a Cubs fan mentality

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 10:58 AM) It's going to be interesting. I think the top tier of players is 9 deep. It's the first 8 you have listed + Rutherford. That's just my opinion. I know the Sox prefer Rutherford to Moniak. I got a guy who says Atlanta is flooding the big writers with info on the college bats but they very well may be going high school. He says they've been scouting both Rutherford and Yellich heavily even though it hasn't been reported. Other whisper is that they love Pint. Preller too has been scouting both heavily HS Cali guys too. Christian Yellich and Rutherford grew up in the same neighborhood and Yellich's mom has a relationship with ATL's personnel FWIW. There's a camp in their brain trust that calls Rutherford "Yellich with power." Which is an annual all star in theory. I think Moniak is better than Rutherford, while Rutherford will always have more power than Moniak, I think Moniak is better than Rutherford everywhere else, not to mention he plays center field at a plus level. I know KW loves guys who (project to) hit for power, that why be why the Sox prefer him to Moniak. The San Diego area has been turning out some great players as of late like Moniak and Aiken to name a couple.

Hoping for Justin Dunn in round 2 and Matthias Dietz somewhere after round 2. He's a local product and can hit 97, 98, he's also big at 6'6, 220. I think he projects better as a reliever than a starter in the majors.

Bo Porter, Gabe Kapler, Dave Martinez*, Brandon Hyde*, Lloyd McClendon, Freddi Gonzalez, Andy Haines, Rick Renteria* and Jason Varitek. Some personal favorites

The teams needs to have their bench upgraded desperately.

official: White Sox purchase contract of Jason Coats

Hopefully he gets some playing time. -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Coghlan is a REALLY good idea IMO. He'd provide a lefty power bat that the Sox desperately need and he's very versatile as well. He could be their 'super sub', and would greatly improve their bench.

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ May 11, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) Modern day slavery based on what? Paying 16 year old kids exorbitant amounts of money to play a game that they choose to play? Thats not how slavery worked. In a country where the median income is around $1300 annually, a $35K plus bonus is more money than most people in the DR ever see. Yes there is a lot of shady stuff, the Sox can attest to that from their own dealings. Whenever there is a large amount of money on the table there is going to be corruption, baseball has allowed that system to flourish with the current system, a hard cap would do nothing to remove that corruption. We dont't know how much of that money is actually going to the players. These guys essentially leave their families at a young age, go to a compound (plantation) and just work on playing baseball in the hopes of being good enough to be signed (bought) by a major league team. Showcases are basically slave auctions/markets, where (I'm going to guess 98% white) American men bid on children from a third world country. Even after they sign, they go to a compound and just work on baseball. -

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) My wishlist as of now: 1.10 Corey Ray - Lou, CF - seems to be slipping and this would be a really good fit in a lot of ways 1.26 Alec Hansen - OU RHP - Guy entered the year as the choice to be 1.1 could be a good spot to save some money on a guy and have him rebound for you at some point. Back in the rotation and has 29 K's in his last 20IP. 2. Matt Manning - HS RHP - Athletic multi sport athlete that the Sox tend to love. Would eat all of the money you saved on Hansen and more. Spencer Adams v2 3. Ronnine Dawson - LF OSU - Guy with a lot of athleticism and ability. Has a solid power/speed combination. Hit .329/.423/.617 this season with 13 HR and 20 SB. 4. Spencer Van Scoyoc - HS LHP - Runs fastball up to 92 with a plus breaking ball. 5. Joel Booker - Iowa CF - Senior hit .370/.421/.532 with 23 SB's. Need to start saving money and this guy could help while not breaking the bank. Corey Ray is not going fall past the top 5. Alec Hansen at 26 maybe a reach, and there's no way that Matt Mannig is going to fall to the second round.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 31, 2016 -> 09:57 PM) It is forced, there is no need for it. We don't know if it is, maybe the plan was to always have him in the movie. So I would wait till you see the movie before you call it forced.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 31, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) That would be a strange and forced addition to the movie. He was never implicated to be involved with the Resistance/Rebellion prior to when he met Luke It wouldn't be strange. I don't know if this is still canon or not but he was a notorious drug dealer who ran drugs across the galaxy, it not ridiculous to think that he would cross paths with the Empire or the Rebel Alliance. Remember his line in A New Hope when Obi Wan ask him how fast the Millennium Falcon is, "I've outrun Imperial starships. Not the local bulk cruisers mind you, I'm talking about the big Corellian ships now."

Since Rouge One is undergoing reshoots and the role of young Han Solo has been filled, I would be shocked if Alden Ehrenreich is not in the movie.

The Nice Guys was amazing. I would've liked some some back story about the characters and the little girl was hilarious. There's a lot of hidden jokes in the movie, like the one about asparagus. It's a shamed that it bombed because that means there's going to be fewer original movies for the time being. X Men was great as well, not as good as X2 but I think that it's as good as the original film and better then First Class. I think the movie could've been better if the creative team resisted the urge to play to Jennifer Lawrence's star power because her role felt very forced. Oscar Issac was great, the costumed looked way better in action than it did in the photos. I wished that they kept his voice distorted for the entirety of the movie. The new cast was very solid too. And my favorite part was the Hugh Jackman scene. Something that bother was that they let scenes drag on for too long, if they would've trimmed the ending of some scenes down, the movie would be like 5-10 minutes shorter. It reminded me a lot of the 90s cartoon show. Obliviously the villain of the next film is going to be a certain Sinister character, hopefully with the next film being set in the 90s the next film will go back to the serious tone of the first two films and use the AIDS epidemic as a backdrop for the story since mutant blood is going to be some sort of MacGuffin. Hopefully Bryan Singer stays with the franchise, I know he said that he would like to go back to original films but I can't imagine someone better suited for the franchise. If not as a director but as a writer/producer.

It would be kinda poetic if the Sox end this losing streak with a come from behind win. EDIT: SPELLING
