  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 31, 2016 -> 08:39 PM) 9th inning looks to be the real problem for Robertson. Are you overreacting to one bad save or do you think that the Sox have a tall task in the ninth? It's hard to tell.
  2. I think Rick Hahn is one of the smartest GMs in the game. There no way that those Syndergaard to the Sox for Ramirez rumors were true.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 31, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) He got thrown out of his start very early. His pitch day. I think Terry Collins said this is his side day too.
  4. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 31, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) Not watching. But wtf is he coming in for? Lol To get some work in, I think he pitched less than three innings and didn't throw a lot of pitches in his last start.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 31, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) In a perfect world with their current roster, Anderson could be like Chone Figgins and play everywhere around the diamond. But it's extremely scary to move him around and not let Tim get 100% comfortable at SS. Theoretically, he should be able to play 2B, but then that means you're giving up on Lawrie. Maybe you rotate them at DH. Kind of a tough situation when you're trying to compete but also develop your 2017 team simultaneously. It would be a shame to see them convert him to CF before we find out how he would do at the MLB level playing SS. 98-99% sure they won't move him off SS, though stranger things have happened with Sox prospects. I think the Sox are going to give Tim Anderson every opportunity to stick at short stop this season before they think about moving him off the position.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 31, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) Btw, thanks for the extended ST video. How tall is Reyes When he signed he was listed at 6-4, BA has Tatis Jr. at 6'3 and Reyes looks a few inches taller.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 31, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) A part of me wishes Anderson was able to transition into a CF. I feel confident in Saladino becoming a league average SS. Me too, a move to the outfield (LF/CF) would allow him to just focus on his bat.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 31, 2016 -> 07:50 PM) Robin is such a f***ing idiot. You going to use a pinch hitter and a right handed pitcher is coming into the game. J.B. Shuck is the logical choice. But no, he decides to use Jerry f***ing Sands. I know Sands is here to mainly hit LHPs but he has come through as a pinch hitter for the team before, while Shuck was at AAA.
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 31, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) Chuck GarfienVerified account ‏@ChuckGarfien Who knows when the White Sox will bring up Tim Anderson, but they've got a really good young shortstop right now--Tyler Saladino. The better Saladino plays more time Anderson gets to refine himself at AAA, I still expect him to get the call around the ASB
  10. It's nice to see the players show some fight, I fully but the slump on them. It's hard to manage when your team is collectively struggling at everything.
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 30, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) Regional match ups just came out. Southeast Missouri State is facing Mississippi State. Could be a Lucchessi vs. Hudson match up on Friday night, everyone should be watching I would be pleased if Hudson falls to the Sox, I think he could be a solid #3. I've seen John Lackey as a comp and Nathan Eovaldi. While I'm praying that Jason Groome falls to the Sox, or they end up with Mickey Moniak, I would be so exited if the Sox ended up drafting Blake Rutherford. Up until the start of the season, a lot of draft experts and sites had this guy going #1 overall or #2 overall. He's been in the spotlight since he was 16 and he's definitely struggling from prospect fatigue. I think people are overblowing the age thing, everyone always knew he was a little older but because of his skill level and agree could play full season ball next year for the team that drafts him. Having Rutherford in the system would bring a big boost to the farm.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 31, 2016 -> 04:20 PM) Trammel, the first link, getting big helium right now. I know, he fully committed himself to baseball and his tools just took off, it also doesn't hurt if you're a freak athlete. I could see him going in the first half of the the first round proper but because he carries the stigma of being a two sport athlete, I could still see him going in the supplemental round despite his monster campaign. Texas, Minnesota, Houston and Toronto are fits. Pittsburgh loves to draft multi sport guys and I wonder if the Sox with Hostelter's ties to the Georgia area and his preference of high school players would consider taking him at 10, if not 26.

  15. I really wanted to wake up to news of Robin being fired but I had what drug addicts call a 'moment of clarity' while eating my muffin today and realized that firing Robin won't fix the bullpen, it won't add a another quality starter to the rotation and a lefty bat in the lineup. A slump was inevitable, every team goes through one but let's face reality the Sox's roster has a lot of holes and those holes lead to prolonged slumps and a smaller margin of error. The division is still winnable and despite shooting themselves in the face for the past 15 games, the Sox are still in it.
  16. Trayce maybe just a platoon player against LHPs, while Frazier is leading the AL in HRs. Great trade by the Sox,
  17. I dont think you can trade Tatis Jr, he would have to be a player to be named later. It's also typical for AJ Preller to covet INTL guys, I know the Padres were in the running for Tatis Jr. last year. If Preller wants him that badly, knowing his scouting acumen when it comes to J2 guys, that's someone that I would try to hang on to but beggars can't be choosers.
  18. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ May 26, 2016 -> 10:57 AM) That was the same argument used for Mitchell and Hawkins. No thanks. I didn't say I don't want the Sox to get players with tools, I am saying they need to prioritize contact over power as many of the power guys they have acquired never make enough contact to make it to the majors. Poor pitch recognition does not equal toolsy, it equals a player that can't hit advanced breaking balls. Trammell is a better hitter than either Hawkins and Mitchell at this point. Again the reports on him out there all praise his plus bat speed and his ability to make contact despite his current pitch recognition skills. As he gets better with pitch recognition, his bat is only going to play better. I never said that 'poor pitch recognition equals toolsy'. Being a 2000yrds+ rusher in high school and having 70/75 speed and being a freak athlete make you toolsy.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 26, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) Anderson to the 2/9 hole. Saladino back to supersub. Rollins/Garcia (for now) platoon at DH, Rollins hitting against all LHP. Sands to AAA/DFA. Probably the future at some point here soon... Batting Anderson second would be great because it guarantees that he'll see some good pitches to hit, but having him bat ninth wouldn't put any pressure on him.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 27, 2016 -> 12:03 AM) Will Clark, Rafael Palmeiro and Bobby Thigpen all came from Mississippi State, right? Red Sox draft 12th. Definitely could see the A's or Tigers going after him. Not sure about the Padres or Marlins. Preller is all about upside but he prefers high school players
  21. He's been on a streak, he was pretty good his last start. I'd think he'd be an under slot guy.
