  1. Witt is a burner. I don’t think Sheets played it poorly, but I don’t think a legit RF holds him to 2 bases either.
  2. No one is deserving. Liam or Robert maybe.
  3. There are all of like 3 Major League hitters in that lineup.
  4. I’m a firm believer that on field results don’t matter to JR any more, so I’m rooting for maximum chaos, embarrassment, and or humiliation. Public shaming probably doesn’t even matter but it’s worth a try.
  5. They really need a Blackhawks makeover from ownership on down, without the abhorrent s%*# that went on behind the scenes.
  6. The baseball landscape is much different now than it was in 2016. In a hypothetical sell off, Hahn has way less leverage. The parts that he could sell now simply aren’t worth the “hauls” he got for Sale, Q, and Eaton, Hahn’s lack of talent evaluation aside. The core of this team was a flash in the pan 2020-2021, and since has crashed & burned. Maybe you get real value from Cease and Robert, but then what? The prospects whither on the vine in the minors? Moncada is unmovable w/o eating significant money, so no return there. Eloy is in a similar boat. You’re stuck with Benintendi. Vaughn isn’t bringing back a haul, and neither is Kopech. Hendriks too for that matter. Grandal, Lynn, Graveman, & Bummer get you lottery tickets at best. There is no real path to jump-starting a 2016 style rebuild again. This is a colossal mess. Maxed out, grossly overpaid for their production, and with little to no trade value. It’s all moot for that matter too as I do not believe JR would authorise another bare bones tear down. Prepare yourselves for cost cutting and pretending that they are still competing. The results on the field simply don’t matter to JR anymore, so long as the profit rolls in, and his sycophantic front office does that job well enough while pretending to care about winning, so don’t expect any significant changes there either. We are all hostages of this ownership group until they draw their last breath.
  7. Fun to be on the winning side of a laugher for a change, but it changes nothing big picture. A +13 win barely put a dent in their run differential. Wake me up when they do this against good pitching.
  8. What’s more embarrassing, that rundown or someone expecting it to be the deciding factor in Hahn’s fate?
  9. Nice of them to broadcast their cost cutting intentions early. Zero surprise though. Gio, Lynn, & TA are as good as gone. Get ready for the deck chair shuffling return to middling mediocrity.
  10. Not all prospects pan out, but that doesn’t mean the process is inherently flawed or wrong. Selling off your best players, loading your system up, then doing next to nothing to supplement that talent is certainly one way to set your rebuild up to fail. As is having a GM who can’t scout for s%*# and an owner averse to both high dollar long term contracts and paying good money to sign top amateur talent. Not all rebuilds are equal, but successful rebuilds aren’t sabotaged internally by incompetent executives failing upwards into positions of power for which they are woefully unqualified.
  11. I didn’t think they were bad, but in game on field interviews will always be trash.
  12. Just don’t get your asses kicked like you did late in 2020…
  13. Did Beckham ever play SS here regularly? Beyond an injury replacement?
  14. If by clutch you do mean bad, then yes. Or if by clutch you refer to a worn out broken down manual transmission desperately needing to be replaced or sent to the scrapyard.
  15. Can they string 3 together? Win an actual series? Look like semi competent Major Leaguers?
  16. 8 Yermins and 1 Billy Hamilton. They’ll be bad, but damnit they’ll be fun!
  17. Are they even in a position to walk it off if not for the stupid ghost runner rule? We all witnessed the 9th inning futility preceding.
  18. I can’t believe this list is making me pine for the days of Avisail Garcia. Yikes. For all of the s%*# Hahn has thrown out in RF, Gavin Sheets could be #2 on this list by summer’s end. If that’s not the biggest indictment I don’t know what is.
  19. It’s more the armchair GMs dig. Are we supposed to be contended by any of these moves? Sheets starting in RF every day? More Elvis and Hanser? Alex freaking Colomé? What exactly are we doing here?
  20. Yes, because shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic is worth celebrating?
