  1. Sorry Steve, but there are no more ifs for Hahn. He should be fired today. His fate shouldn’t hinge on anything yet to happen, he has earned his dismissal ten fold.
  2. Might as well. A’s aren’t even trying to win, but the Sox are giving them a run for their money. Winner of the race to the bottom gets to bounce to brand new digs while 2nd place has to rot in place? Sounds like a fine way to many two shitty teams at least somewhat interesting.
  3. I’m in a very similar boat. I’ll be surprised if they win a game on this home stand. It’s a strange curiosity to see just how bad they can get before anything changes. I want to see them in the very basement with the A’s, but I fear that still won’t force JR’s hand.
  4. They have matched the 8 game losing streak from last year. But I don’t think this one is ending at 8.
  5. He woulda had a coronary during the home opener. We should be glad for his sake he’s no longer in the booth.
  6. If Moncada has been dealing with since last year, it’s wild to me this is the first we are hearing of it. We obviously don’t know, but nothing would really shock me with this team regarding injuries.
  7. This needs to be a viral sensation that gets national media attention. Even if it doesn’t move the needle inside their bubble.
  8. Never fear, the Sox are in hot pursuit of KC for 2nd worst. Cease may hold the Rays at bay but pen will do their usual song and dance. Sox bats aren’t touching McClanahan.
  9. Can we honestly say it wasn’t just for show? KW doesn’t speak to the media much any more, so in doing so they think it convinces us and the media that they are serious about turning things around. It’s just hot air. They are comfortable in the mess they made.
  10. More depressing is that none of the fan outrage locally moves the needle one bit for them. Public shaming doesn’t pierce their bubble.
  11. Pedro is the buffer between Hahn and the horrid roster they put together. They can’t fire him in April after singing his praises all winter. Firing their shiny new manager right after hiring him begs too many questions of the decision makers, they still need that scapegoat.
  12. Feels similar to the responses I got from Brooks Boyer and my former rep when I voiced my disdain at the TLR hiring. It was all hard sell responses. Not one iota of self-reflection in the whole org.
  13. It’s not denial if they don’t care to do the work to fix anything. I’m sure they are fully aware things are awful, but they are completely comfortable with awful. Why upset the status quo when doing so might be an admission of how much they’ve fucked it all up?
  14. 81-81. That sure was some incredible glue.?
  15. Definitely the worst team I've paid close attention to. There have been plenty of bad teams in MLB during my fandom, but this might be the worst Sox team I've ever witnessed.
  16. Theo hasn't been any good since the slot system and INT caps went into effect. His best tools were throwing gobs of money at amateur talent. No way he would come here to work under JR's constraints.
  17. There are ways, if you're willing to pay a little extra.
  18. Shows how much I pay attention to them.
  19. They were certainly a dumpster fire when he was there. But when are they not?
