  1. Yup. There is no good choice as long as JR is in charge. That’s the most discouraging part.
  2. Nope. Happy to chase terrible pitches instead of taking the walk.
  3. And be the 2012-2016 White Sox all over again? Maxed out with a barren farm going nowhere fast?
  4. George Clooney in Solaris is more the vibe. Or all of us watching the 4 hour long original Russian version. Its a hellscape that just never seems to end...
  5. Yeah, the only way one would arrive at a 144 game average would be if they cherry picked the four years from 2003-2006. Crede played 798 games over 9 season for the Sox. I'm not great at math, but that's not even a 90 game average for his Sox career.
  6. Is there a term for incessant nonsensical s%*#-posting? Keystroke diarrhea perhaps?
  7. Putting Mr ‘I broke my hand punching my bat and was never the same player again’ first on your list just proves how completely full of s%*# you are. None of this is relevant to today either way. But Carlos Quentin could never stay healthy, and his one healthy season ended with the dumbest hand/wrist injury imaginable. Disconnect your keyboard already…
  8. I figured with him being 25 it wouldn’t count against their pool. Wasn’t sure how his deal would work as to sending him to Charlotte or AZ to tune up or what. Good to know.
  9. Pedro hasn’t been good don’t get me wrong, but when half your squad is always injuries, it’s hard to be successful. He’s made some mistakes early in his tenure but he only has so much to work with. He doesn’t get a pass, but this isn’t all on him.
  10. They were never going to go with an experienced outside hire, especially if it made TLR look bad. Grifol was a legit managerial candidate, but was likely chosen because he wouldn’t rock the boat too much.
  11. It’s a 2 year guaranteed deal, but I believe he’d still be under team control with only 2 years of service time.
  12. I assume he’d need a 40 man spot since it’s an MLB deal.
  13. To echo/piggyback off your point, most of the regulars that came through the system are guys they acquired in the pre-rebuild fire sale. For all of the high draft picks spent during the rebuild, what do they have to show for it? The rebuild really was one single wave of players coming up around the same time. There was no pipeline of talent established through the tanking years, so they are basically where they were pre-rebuild- a patchwork of talent with no depth behind them and little margin for error if and when things go wrong. Maxed out, no depth, and simply not good enough to compete.
  14. 26 walks in the series? While that is really bad, I’m not going to place that entirely on Katz, though he does share in the blame. I’m going to credit Baltimore for having disciplined approaches with a plan at the plate. They were happy to take a walk when there wasn’t a good pitch to hit. Unlike the home team flailing at breaking balls low and away, chasing time and again.
  15. The first eligible team would claim him in an instant and laugh at the Sox every day while Eloy mashed for them.
