Can you imagine Eloy out there Friday night trying to get to the the balls Benintendi couldn't? -

For all we know Eloy woulda blown out his hammy playing RF in Houston. Getting him out of the OF was always a good call. He *IS* injury prone, but as a DH he is far less likely to hurt someone else. Fewer walls to worry about running the bases too. It's not rocket science. -

Most of the park had tuned out by then, makes sense we didn't notice. Same probably goes for those watching at home. -

Jose Abreu on time with Sox, moving forward...Scott Merkin

For someone who loves to post long winded nonsensical posts often not at all related to the subject at hand, you sure seem to lack self awareness. -

Pot meet kettle? -
No doubt Kopech served up quite a few. I just think there is evidence that the balls are jumping around baseball again and it isn’t isolated to a bad outing here or there.
-
-
Not to go all conspiracy theory but 53 home runs were hit across baseball yesterday. That’s not to say Kopech wasn’t missing his spots badly or even tipping his pitches, but that seems like an alarming number.
-
Oh, this is a @caulfield12 thread? Nevermind then…
-
This thread is a laugh and all, but we do know that firing Hahn changes nothing w/o a change in ownership, right? And we are all just screaming into the void?!
-
I was there live. It wasn’t pretty. Sadly I think he was much better in his mlb debut than his home opener debut. I don’t have anything to add beyond that…

Yup, 2p local time start. Rain looks like it will mostly stay away until 7ish.

Its true?

Getting out with a split, having a lead in every game, starters mostly good, big positives considering the opponent. Bullpen, situational hitting, and what I’ll call some growing pains from Grifol in the dugout are definitely areas of concern. The bats broke through late, but they still fail far too often with runners in scoring position. There are still areas of concern that feel too reminiscent of 2022, but Houston is a tough matchup so it’s hard to read too much of anything after the first four games.
-
Robert looked 1000000 times better yesterday. Though it’s hard to look worse that he did the first three games. If he’s locked in he hits third in my lineup, with Moncada hitting second. I know Grifol loves Benintendi in the three spot, he just doesn’t belong there in my opinion. Sixth feels like a better spot for him to me.

This. He is a shitbag whom I don’t want anywhere near my favorite team. Every time the camera showed his cringeworthy face my skin crawls. Nothing about his performance yesterday changes that. That said, he did his job. Doesn’t change my view one iota and I still long for the day he is DFA’d. There is no conflict here for me.
