  1. Hahaha no, probably not. Who would want the later half of this train wreck of a season on their managerial record?
  2. Debuted last year but only played in 117 games. Should have 4 more years after this one.
  3. With their extensive success rate developing bats, what do we have to worry about?
  4. And Fletcher can’t even get a long look on a 120 loss team. I’d rather ride with the kid that’s been young at every level over giving him away for a 4th OF.
  5. When it’s obvious that winning isn’t the priority, the asinine and the absurd don’t seem so far fetched.
  6. Holy s%*# does the Mena trade look awful now. Not that it looked great at the time… Getz took a 100 loss team and made it worse, while wasting time on bad vets over give kids ABs in the bigs. But they owed it to fans to not waste time in turning things around??.
  7. I am as emotionally detached as possible while being a realist about the situation. I’ll call myself a fan again when ownership shows they give a damn. But 30+ years of fandom is hard to quit when you love baseball more than ever. I just find my baseball bliss elsewhere.
  8. The prize of his only notable trade just got lit up by the first team to see him a second time. Whether his stuff will play once teams get more tape is a big question right now IMO.
  9. Under this ownership regime, minimum 5. The new draft rules would really hamper this team’s ability to stack high draft picks. They won’t be playing in the FA market for a number of those years as well. Maybe they emphasize the INT market to supplement but that’s never been their forte either. Really hard to squint and see a path back to respectability until JR is no longer around.
  10. Plenty of room here in the Estranged/Recovering White Sox fans club!??
  11. I suppose that’s true.
  12. Cubs being buyers is hilarious.
  13. How’s that team of defensive upgrades going there Getzy?
  14. The delusion of an aged billionaire thinking he can control AJ by giving him what he wants? IDK. Coming from Bob is what has me believing it could happen despite all of the rational reasons why AJ wouldn't be a candidate.
  15. Unless JR is trying to silence one of his biggest critics on the national stage. Which feels very tinfoil hat to say, but nothing would surprise me with JR at this point.
  16. Bob floating the idea of AJ likely means there have been internal discussions, if not in person meetings. AJ's history with and connection to the org make him no different than the long line of lazy hires from the pool of familiar former Sox IMO.
  17. I see a lot of mediocre performance in that lineup. They'd be lucky to reach .500 any given year.
  18. Should have been doing that all along. If the flip signings aren’t even flippable, then what the hell are they even doing here?
  19. I’m too lazy to look up every name, but I’m pretty sure all of those names worked on coaching staffs at the MLB level before being hired. AJ hasn’t. Look at the orgs those guys work for as well. Outside of Kotsay and Shoemaker (post Kim Ng) those orgs set those guys up to success. That’s not happening here. AJ might make a great manager, but the deck is stacked against him succeeding here. AJP isn’t going to magically fix things.
  20. Spot on. 2021 might be the last “competitive” White Sox team we see for the next decade. They may not lose 120 every year, but we are in for years of bad ugly baseball. The multiple failed attempts at building competitive teams in the 2010s have nothing on the likely failures coming in the later half of the 2020s. It really is that dire IMO.
