  1. So explain his negative dWar last season when he played entirely at 1B? And the rest of his mediocre offensive numbers? Yeah, he played out of position as a rookie, but far less the past two seasons. Yet the bat hasn't carried over. Limited power, average bat, slow AF, poor defensive 1B's just aren't that valuable.
  2. I seem to remember him being upper 90s in his debut. Sadly the lengthy rain delay cut his day short and he was shut down a start or two later.
  3. Shuster looked good in the 1st inning at least...
  4. Burdic won't be winning any jobs with today's effort.

  6. Smug idiot hoisted on his own petard. Works for me.
  7. You might be on to something there. I hate the org with a burning passion, but even if they moved to the burbs I would feel a profound sense of loss. If you aren’t local, what changes for you if they move? Not a whole lot.
  8. True, but it isn’t a perfect fix. The best ballpark experience in the bigs in a super popular location isn’t a complete safeguard from a bad owner and the ass-backwards way he run the franchise.
  9. Ballpark experiences as we know them are a newer phenomenon, and yes it is a major factor in how fans consume the game now, but its not as if the Sox haven't drawn well on 35th street in the past. GRF has its issues, but we'll never know if a park experience would work because they've never tried. Another feather in JR's bad owner cap. My point is that Sox fans show up when the team is good. Being consistently good is something JR has never had as a top priority. A shiny new ballpark near downtown won't solve all of their attendance issues if they don't win. I'm pro South Loop park and believe it can be a shot in the arm for the future health of the franchise, but ultimately its lipstick on a pig if ownership continues to operate the way they have for the past 40+ years.
  10. Which is what made JR's statements about not being able to survive at the current location disingenuous from the start. If he cared to put a winning product on the field regularly, hired competent baseball ops people, and did not meddle (cough cough TLR), they could easily average 2.5+ million fans year on end. Moving 2 miles north might draw more tourists and casual fans, but the reason they don't draw well on 35th street has way more to do with the team and those in charge than location.
  11. Mofo is lucky he isn't a walking case of thrush with how often he puts his foot in his mouth simply by opening it. He can't get fired soon enough.
  12. Awesome. Our manager just proved once again he has no concept of what good is. We are SO fucked. Not that we weren't already.?‍♀️
  13. Can't bank on Dejong running into a 3 run bomb very often either.
  14. I had the game on and can't remember him doing anything of note at the plate.
  15. Never fear, they'll remove all doubt soon enough.
  16. If he is optioned and spends most of the season in the minors, yes they would gain an extra year of control. I have the feeling that they will stretch him out in the bigs though.
  17. To be fair, this could be said about so many Sox moves and is hardly unique. I'm not defending the trade, but it is far too soon to make any declarative statements either way.
