The Rockies looked well on their way for a good chunk of the season, and even they sit at 40 wins with 3 weeks to play. Getzy’s record is going to stand for a while.

Is “The 78” Dead? Or even more alive? Fire announce plans for SSS
Tnetennba replied to soxfan18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Less missing the point, more refusing to see the point. I have no doubt that any ballpark at the 78 will have parking options, but not having their parking wants directly catered to has a select few here completely losing their s%*#, ad infinitum. -

I see plenty of Cubs jerseys on the Orange Line heading into downtown, and *gasp* they transfer to the scary subway at Roosevelt. -

Or do what the Cubs do and shuttle fans in from remote parking lots. -
Shafted would be him performing well, not getting called up when the need arose, and the Sox not letting him seek opportunity elsewhere. But none of that happened. He sucked, and even admits it. Total non-story.

My first apartment in the city was on the 3rd floor of a South Loop loft with the Green/Orange line racks right outside my window. I quickly learned to keep my blinds closed, especially during rush hour 😂. -
Even if the last round of early extensions doesn’t give them pause, a risk averse org like the Sox certainly will have trepidation handing long term money to a guy who has already had back issues in the minors.

Because, Getz.

There is still a non-zero percent chance they don't pick up the option and waste 2M while he walks for nothing. I think most rational fans here would recognize the Sox taking what they could get in July for an oft injured player having a dismal year several years removed from All Star level play. This isn't selling Cease for pennies on the dollar.
-
Had he stayed healthy and productive the rest of the year, sending cash along with him might have actually improved the return. But I just can’t see a team giving up legit value at this point even with cash. The injury risk is just too high.

Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale

Or 2B -
Other GMs knew Robert’s inability to stay on the field well enough to call Getz’ bluff at the deadline, and low & behold he’s out with another injury that will keep him out significant time. I don’t see how the returns will be better come winter with a $20M price tag attached.

It does say “me”, which could mean anything. Certainly won’t be the White Sox, who are more likely to lose 98 in 2026 than win 98.

For all of your delusional posts, this one takes the cake.

Some people just hate fun.

Rox have a -332 run differential and are somehow only 5 wins from bettering the 2024 Sox. That’s crazy. Losing 31 of 34 the rest of the way seems like a tall task, even for them.

But loves money way way more. While also hating us just as much.

Can’t wait to discover just how much ESPN fucks up MLB.tv…

And next few before they relent and IL him and we don’t see him again until late September. -

Oh boy, I do remember that incident but don’t recall who did the scribbling in the dirt. Not that it’s a great look for either of them one way or another. -
Sox, Cubs, Brewers, Twins paired together in future?
Tnetennba replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
True, but circumstance of a cheap owner is a bit different than putting a team in a small town knowing full well it’s one of the last places in the continental US players would want to sign, or re-sign. -

This makes a ton of sense, which means it won’t happen and we’ll get something far more asinine. -

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Good luck trying to ever sign a big FA or retaining their own players. Or drawing crowds 81 dates a year. -

Technically fall starts the last week of the regular season, but if Schrif is turning off to do football games, then that’s more like 5 to 6 weeks.
