  1. Red, Orange, Green Roosevelt stops are a block away. #12, #24, #29, #62 busses all close by. I could see a public/private partnership as part of the stalled 78 redevelopment. JR’s saber rattling about Nashville or moving elsewhere were the first indicators that something was in the works.
  2. Still on the Southside, but basically downtown. Best of both worlds IMO. The location alone would make the stadium a draw for tourists and casual fans even.
  3. I’ve been saying the same thing, but let’s hope by the time a new park opens the old man won’t still be pulling the strings.
  4. The transit options are plentiful, and shuttle service from Ogilvie or the lots at 35th & Shields would make perfect sense. There would be zero reason to drive to Clark & Roosevelt.
  5. LaSalle & Van Buren to Clark & Roosevelt is about half a mile. 10-15 minute walk with plenty of CTA options.
  6. I had to do a double take. I expected it to be an old article from the first time the site was considered. I thought the land was spoken for, but a new modern stadium at Clark & Roosevelt would be game changer for the future health of the whole White Sox organization. Please Universe, please make it happen.
  7. JR never seemed to have a problem with Hahn burning gobs of money on the fringes, as long as they were low dollar short term expenditures. 4/$32 is pretty cheap for most orgs, but that's still $8M per for 4 years for an unproven player for an owner that hates long term deals for pitching. All of the guys you mention are completely washed and are total wastes of money IMO. I'm grasping at straws to find the logic too.
  8. Maybe Getz is under orders not to spend real money on unproven talent? IDK.
  9. If they could, wouldn't they have by now? It is mid January after all. Seems other teams don't want the O's mid prospects either.
  10. Can we just ban this prick already? Or group ignore list en masse? Scrolling past the incessant circle-jerk ravings of an ill-informed emotional infant is sheer insufferable tedium.
  11. Headliner baby! I hope those prospect rankings keep them warm next fall when they finish 3rd and fail to make the postseason.
  12. That hot minute they went dormant was glorious...
  13. Yankees have money to burn and Stroman feels more like a stopgap half-measure than a big addition.
  14. The offseason has been boring AF and I'm very ready for actual big league baseball to start happening... Feb 13 can't get here soon enough...
  15. Seems to be a lot of negotiating through the press the pass few days. Whether NYY is actually interested in Stroman or not, this feels like their counter to Getz’s comments yesterday. There is probably some truth to all three points, but putting it out there that NY is looking elsewhere definitely feels aimed at Getz to me.
  16. I think everyone would be happy with a disaster, except for how it might impact Cease’s market.
  17. I was about to say, Stroman doesn’t fill the TOR void. Solid, but not a 1 or 2.
