Remember when we all stupidly believed the Sox might sign a star player in their prime? Those were the days.

MLB announces rules changes for 2024 season

This is how I interpreted it too, hence my comment. A pitcher warming up on the mound for an inning makes way more sense. I can see the logic behind the change, even if it happened far too infrequently to require a rule change IMO. -

Pitcher Who Warms Up Must Face At Least One Hitter: A pitcher who is sent out to warm up for an inning must face at least one batter (in addition to any requirements under the Three-Batter Minimum rule). There were 24 instances this season where the pitcher that warmed up between innings was replaced before throwing a pitch (adding approximately three minutes of dead time per event). There were two such instances during the 2023 World Series. This seems excessive to me. -

If the OP doesn’t make a pointless thread about it, did it really happen?? -
The Jazz or a AAA team surviving in Utah is one thing, but 81 home games in a tiny media market is a stretch IMO. Denver is 3 times the size of SLC and the Rockies are rarely ever relevant. Good luck ever courting a star FA to Salt Lake City.

While true, I'd imagine there are still some Expos faithful around. MLB returning to Montreal would have to opportunity to create new fans as well. Not that I believe Manfred would ever do something good for the fans.

Montreal and Oakland have both shown they can support a team in the past, and both are most deserving IMO. Nashville does seem like a foregone conclusion though.

Kinda need to be a threat with the bat to offer protection.

We would be lucky to get similar numbers from Eloy in 2024. Hard to imagine a team gives up much for him in trade this winter.

This wouldn’t surprise me. The org can’t walk and chew gum at the same time without tripping over their own feet. At this point I wouldn’t expect an announcement until late January or early February right before pitchers & catchers report. Give fans less time to be upset before baseball starts up again. Not that they give a s%*# about making fans happy.

Getz's marching orders vs what is realistic given the roster and the constraints are two different stories.

Dye, Crede, Pods creating havoc at the top, AJ being AJ, they were way more than “Konerko, Rowand, and Iguchi” offensively.

I think Jermaine Dye would like to have a word.
