  1. Is it worse knowing that whoever replaces Hahn will likely be just as bad, and a change now means change is less likely again anytime in the near future?
  2. Ms are red hot and just swept Houston in Houston. I’ll be surprised if they don’t leave town with a sweep.
  3. He might be delusional enough to think another team might give him a shot, but…
  4. $15M per for Benintendi’s past performance was mostly viewed positively last winter if I recall. The bigger issue was that 5/$75M was the largest outlay in franchise history, and that outlay happened to be for a solid but non spectacular player. We also as fans are jaded because so many middling free agents have signed with the Sox right at the point where age catches up to performance and they crater. The Sox are where careers go to die, and Benintendi seems like the newest addition to that sad Sox fraternity. Only four more years baby! I hope Rick Hahn hasn’t dislocated a shoulder patting himself on the back for that deal…
  5. And we will celebrate Hahn’s departure for all of 5 minutes before Getz or Haber or KW Jr is formally announced…
  6. Ok ok, so this is Bob, so it means they want this out there. Is this just a token piece of red meat for the fan base? Because the mind boggles if this is earnest statement. The White Sox are doing an internal review. The most closed minded insular org around is talking to themselves about whether change is needed. I mean, holy f***.
  7. Aragon is still going strong. Same with the Riv, the Metro, Thalia Hall. All fantastic aged venues. I’d like to thing baseball learned it’s lesson with suburban stadiums. ATL’s nefarious motivations aside. The Bears being entitled brats about the stadium the city and state built for them has no real relevance, and I will celebrate them releasing the stranglehold on public land on the lakefront. We have seen the White Sox draw when they are good. Conceding the city to the north side team is no way to grow the fanbase or increase interest. Talk of a suburban baseball stadium in this day and age is backwards thinking.
  8. You just know he's beaming inside ready to say 'I told you so!' and bat him leadoff the rest of the series.
  9. I'm quite fond of those Armour Square designs. There is so much untapped potential for the Sox to be a near south baseball destination, but JR is lazy and lacks imagination. Or the will.
  10. Comiskey III will right all of the wrongs of the original version of Comiskey II. Home plate will be at 35th & Shields and the park will face the skyline to the north. The south side of 35th will be restaurants, bars, and team store. McCuddies II will be the anchor. 35th street will be closed to traffic and will be set up as a tailgate/beer garden. New Sox Park will bdraw 30K a night and will be a destination again. The potential is there. It just takes the will.
  11. Do whenever the hell you want with the Bears, I don’t give a f***. But hands off my White Sox.
  12. Maybe these guys don’t amount to anything, but we’ve seen plenty of the alternative. Playing the vets aren’t leading them to victories, might as well give the kids as much run in a lost season as possible.
  13. The Sox being a dumpster fire isn’t new. Hawk taking shots at Brooks Boyer of all people is. Both have been org fixtures for ages yet Hawk is only taking shots at him now. What changed?
  14. I had heard that this was in the works and am quite pleased to see that it has indeed happened. What a wonderful way to pay tribute to Minnie! For those who don't know, this school just blocks from the ballpark, diagonally across from Grandstand on 35th.
  15. There definitely seems to be some bitter motivation behind some of his less than effusive comments about the org of late.
  16. There aren't enough likes available for this post. ? ? ? ? ?
  17. The likelihood that Brooks Boyer of all people has nefarious tendrils rooted deep within the org and or has the power to pull JR’s strings really seems far fetched to me. Hawk, love ya, but I really don’t care about whatever beef you have with Brooks Boyer. This is another big nothing to me.
  18. Its only sobering if you were buying what the FO was selling. Which, if you’ve followed this team for any period of time, you really should know better.
  19. I think people are jumping to the conclusion that the White Sox are being petty, when what you’ve both outlined here is likely more accurate. Middleton’s kids might have been used to going to Sox family daycare at the game, and were turned away because dad is no longer a member of the team. It just so happens that dad was the one that spilled the beans on the the clubhouse issues, but these incidents aren’t connected. The same would be applied to Lynn’s kids if he were a visiting Dodger, etc. If the incident occurred, it’s happenstance and a total non-story.
  20. If this happened as “reported” it’s shitty, yes. But look at where it’s posted. Take sensationalized “stories” like these with a grain of salt. There might be a kernel of truth here, but there is a whole lot of conjecture, even from the author, and shouldn’t be taken as corroborated sourced info. This is TMZ turf, and TMZ has more credibility sadly.
  21. These are the only two games remaining that I care whether they win or not this season. Show some pride and take the Cubs down a peg or two. Spare the rest of of from their insufferable fans being extra down the stretch…
