  1. Hawk & Wimpy in their prime were the best!
  2. His blank check approach to team building only works for so long. And now that there are caps for the draft & international pools his flow of young talent has slowed. Throwing gobs of money at everything seems to have caught up with him this time.
  3. You are correct, perhaps not everyone knew that Cordell has been released. My Bad. But thats not really what the previous back and forth was about. But ultimately its not important nor worth auguring about. Peace
  4. And here you are quoting my posts again for no good reason.
  5. Except no, no its not. He is a AAAA guy that got a look during the ugly stages of a rebuild. Like a lot of dudes given plenty of chance to show something but didn't. If you want to hold a torch for the guy and all his AAAA compatirates by all means go ahead, but don't quote my posts while you do it.
  6. No one is offering Yolmer Sanchez 3/$40. Gold Glove or not. Thats an absurd number for even a great defender - that has failed to hit with any constancy in the bigs over a large sample size. It is January and Yolmer Sanchez remains unemployed. I doubt anyone is even offering 1/$5M at this point. If he wants to continue his career he best recognize that an everyday starting gig in MLB is probably not in his future.
  7. Same here. I want no part of Puig. Didn't want him before Mazara, and is definitely a poor fit now. On top of Puig's red flags.
  8. Not that I have seen. Hasn't yet been 2 weeks since it was announced, though I'd expect it fairly soon.
  9. "November 4, 2019: Granted Free Agency." Hasn't been on the roster for 2 months. Why does this necessitate its own thread?
  10. And I would think the Sox are gonna do what is best for them. If McCann is on the roster he is Gio's personal catcher. Lets not go messing with what worked so well last season.
  11. Nats signing two infielders in a matter of days , sure looks like it. Please ATL!
  12. https://sports.yahoo.com/oscar-colas-the-cuban-ohtani-is-coming-to-mlb-and-everybodys-going-to-want-him-195153235.html
  13. Other than Passan saying he is "one of the best prospects to emerge from Cuba in years," don't know much more than that.
  14. This is basically where I am too. Madrigal was really good in his 29 games in Charlotte last summer, but not in an eye popping knock your socks off dominant fashion that begged for an immediate call up. If the FO sees fit to offer his a team friendly deal I won't complain, but he is much more wait and see to me. I don't think anyone one can really argue against with a few more weeks of seasoning in AAA before making his debut.
  15. McCann's first half last season earned him an AllStar spot. But playing all season without an adequate backup really showed in the 2nd half. He has to know that any good team needs two quality catchers, and that he will still get plenty of starts in 2020. He also has the Sox best pitcher in his corner. If that is untenable I don't even know what to say.
  16. I too won't believe that McCann is unhappy until it comes from an actual Sox source.
  17. I believe he was traded to Texas and has since been released.
  18. Same. 3/$24 are fine numbers, but not for a 35 y/o.
  19. The 1995 replacement Sox were further insult to injury.
