LA Times assesses White Sox/Dodgers trade possibilities
Lip Man 1 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well if Anderson is hurt again (he's listed as day-to-day) another significant injury could completely scare other teams off. Maybe he tweeked it with that wild throw into the Seattle dugout Friday night. We'll see if he's back in the lineup Sunday or not. -
By the way DVS of the Sun-Times in his post game wrap says Gonzales has a sore shoulder and will be re-evaluated when the team gets back to Chicago. They are dropping like flies again left and right.

June 17, 2023 – It was quite a first game for Zach Remillard. The long-time minor-league player made his big-league debut in a big way in the Sox 4-3 11 inning win in Seattle. Remillard reached base four times, going 3 for 3 with a walk. He also drove in the tying run in the ninth inning and what turned out to be the winning run in the 11th. He became the first player in the modern era (since 1901) to have a game tying and game winning hit in the ninth inning or later in his debut game. His four times getting on base in his first game tied the team record first set by Johnny Callison in 1958.

And that's a Perfect Remillard White Sox Winner!

8th time this year the Sox trailed in the 7th inning or later and won the game. -
Nice to get a win of course there was another injury.

Lost in this corpseball performance tonight was this little nugget: "Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo, who entered with a 10.80 ERA, struck out a career high nine batters." If these guys aren't embarrassed by that nothing will impact or affect them. ?

One word describes the entire White Sox organization from ownership on down... GARBAGE.
-
Only in the world of the White Sox. Hope the front office is enjoying the show!

He's not even close to Aparicio who was one of the finest defensive shortstops in history and really "changed the game" by bringing back the lost art of the stolen base. He led the American League in that category for nine consecutive seasons. TA pardon the expression, "can't make a pimple on his rear end" as my dad used to say.

I appreciate your sentiments but it would be a lot easier to make heads or tails out of this if you'd use paragraphs.
-
But in his mind remember "I'm the best player on the field..." LOL. As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a maroon..."

They can't let go because it would be an admission of a rebuild failure and their ego's won't allow that. -
Sandy also worked with pitchers in the Rangers organization but refused to wear a Texas uniform.
-
All of a sudden these clowns are only three games out of first. ?

Would be very interested to read more about the Einhorn/body guards story. Do you have any links?

Why should anyone be surprised after last season, this off-season and the cancellation of Sox Fest. Hope it continues, Sox fans shouldn't waste their money on this incompetent organization/team.

Saw on Twitter a post from the MLB Trade Rumor site that says Rosenthal today has a story out that the only players the Sox would consider trading are the guys who will become free agents at the end of the year. If they are a "non-rental" player the Sox are leaning towards keeping them. -
The Sox have been "baseball-stupid" in regards to fundamentals for years. Every year we hear/read the same crap in spring training, "we're working on it," "we're devoting a lot of time to fundamentals." But when they season starts the stupidity comes to the forefront. Nothing changes.

June 16, 1997 - After numerous charity and exhibition games, the Sox and Cubs played for real for the first time in the regular season when they met at the new Comiskey Park. Since then, the two teams have played each other every season multiple times. After playing each other four times in 2022 the Sox had a 73-65 advantage in the regular season meetings.

Here's the stat that matters and basically it is the only one : 30-39 going into Thursday night. Rebuild is a failure, time for massive changes in the players on the roster and the people in the front office.

Echoes a lot of what I've been told and written about. Regarding Kenny different people have told me his deal is up either this year or next year then he is retiring.

DVS of the Sun-Times confirms Moncada back to the IL list. I wonder how this will impact Sox decisions in the future regarding their players participating in the WBC. Grifol said earlier this year his back was screwed up by the long, round the world flights from Arizona to Taiwan, Taiwan to Miami and Miami back to Arizona. Another one bites the dust.

The White Sox need a total culture change

Very true. -
You probably don't need to worry about Jerry selling based on the story I wrote last August. Link is in a post above. The tax hit is significant around 200 million dollars.
