That's the million dollar question and the answer probably involves a lot of areas and a lot of people. Off the top of my head here may be two examples: JR's ego that continues to insist his way is the right way to win. Since 2007 this franchise is one of the worst in baseball. JR refuses to adapt, refuses to hold people accountable until much too late, and continues to insist on "fiscal responsibility" even though MLB by Manfred's own admission is now a 10 billion dollar a year business. The "inbred" attitude of the organization. Almost like a mob mentality, if you aren't connected to the "family" we have little to no interest in hiring you. Very little outside perspective on the problems and issues.
  2. He has always been very considerate with me and I consider him a friend, but I've heard from multiple people things that have gone on with the broadcasters ever before Jason, the naming rights controversy with a potential conflict of interest and other issues that gave me pause. Personally I don't understand why he's decided to take those approaches, that doesn't seem to be like him given my interactions with him.
  3. Two comments: 1.Better late than never 2. This buffoon should never have been hired in the first place So who is next????? https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/white-sox-manager-candidates-ozzie-guillen-charlie-montoyo-and-more-possible-pedro-grifol-replacements/ https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2024/08/08/white-sox-pedro-grifol-fired-chris-getz-jerry-reinsdorf
  4. Tim Kirkjian on ESPN today said the Sox losing 21 in a row "is bad for baseball" and said they need to do a complete rebuild. He said that would be helped by trading Crochet and Robert and getting a lot of talent back in return. Of course when the front office is incompetent, dysfunctional and inept they'll just screw that up too.
  5. Doesn't look like it till the end of the season.
  6. The White Sox are where players careers go to die.
  7. A few people connected to the organization have told me the same thing about Brooks, which is regrettable if true.

Robert has more stolen bases 14 since July 1 than anyone in baseball so his legs are fine. Again I think mentally he has thrown in the towel just wants to get through the end of the season. But like with Moncada and Iloy he got huge money without proving anything and it has impacted him. The Sox thought they were being smarter than everybody else by giving the big money to these guys early so they wouldn't have to potentially pay arbitration years, especially if the players did really well...and...it blew up in their faces.
  9. Today marked the 23rd time...23 times, the Sox had a lead going into the 7th inning or later...and lost. All you can do is laugh at this buffoonish bullpen and the stiffs that populate it.

  11. Here's another one. He specifically talks about TLR's influence and the Sox always being behind the curve (not being proactive): https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/clinton-yates-chicago-white-sox.html
  12. Do you believe in miracles...yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Frank Thomas tonight on the postgame show said Robert just isn't motivated right now. Garfein said it's just not in his nature to "drive the bus" (I.E. lead the team) especially when things are bad. Sounds like another guy who got his big contract without proving a thing in the big leagues and the motivation just isn't what it should be.
  16. Those two ladies obviously did their homework on the organization
  17. He wants out of this dumpster fire and it's impacting his play.
  18. Watched this today on You Tube. I don't know who these ladies are but this is the first time (other than A.J.) I've heard a "national" show go after JR, call Getz out and basically say what Sox fans have been saying for the past few years. Starts at the 5:29 mark of the show.
  19. Sox announced Sox Fest was supposed to be returning this coming off season in part because it is the 125th season of the franchise and the 20-year reunion of the 2005 championship club. Now given what's happened on the field this season it would not surprise me one single bit if they find some excuse not to have it again.
  20. While I understand your point when was the last time and how often has a struggling player come to the Sox and start to play a lot better?
  21. I think that is very true but I also think the mental aspect comes into play. This is a losing organization... basically has been since 2007. It permeates everything at all levels and you don't really realize how bad it is until you spend time in it, eventually that gets to you, especially if you are a player.
  22. And remember the Sox are starting a pitcher making his big league debut.
  23. Phillies I believe sold about a million tickets after his signing was announced. He paid for his salary for the season immediately
  24. That would put them at 24 straight losses which would indeed be the modern record.
