  1. Yes the owner is responsible for hiring incompetent individuals in the departments that deal with the athletes directly. This organization needs a complete enema. Flush all the s%*# away.
  2. My God, I think they are really going to do it! 20 straight losses soon!
  3. No they just need new ownership to come in, fire everyone on the baseball side of the operations from top to bottom and hire competent people.
  4. No they can not unless they feel he has done something illegal or is doing something fiscally irresponsible. Even then they'd have to prove it. Get used to it, he is here and in charge until he is no longer with us.

  7. The 1916 Philadelphia A's were 2-28 in July so at least someone was worse. LOL
  8. Remember he was rated THE #1 minor league prospect in all of baseball. That's called an epic fail in my book.
  9. A tweet I saw a few weeks ago, I think it was from Jay Cuda said the Sox only have two full time scouts and five analytics people.
  10. Just look at what Pham has already done. Given the complete dysfunction of the Sox organization from top to bottom we shouldn't be surprised guys actually start to produce when they get out of this dumpster fire and go to an organization that knows what they are doing.
  11. fWAR, WAR, ZWAR, ABC, XYZ et al doesn't mean squat when you are always on the injured list. From the people I spoke with all connected to the organization in various way for my November 2022 story: “The problem is some of these guys just don’t care, they want to win sure but they already have gotten their money with these contracts before they proved anything. Moncada would strike out and just walk back to the dugout like no big deal, he fouls a ball off and now he can’t play for three days? His contract makes him untradable but he needs to go.”
  12. Grifol was asked before the game if he thinks he is a good manager: “I think I am. I really do,” Grifol said. “And I think managing is motivating people to play and work hard every single day. I think managing is preparing and making good decisions and serving people and including people. It’s not up for me to decide. I don’t make decisions on whether I’m a good manager or not. That’s for other people to decide.” ?? Guy is now certifiably delusional.
  13. Moncada update courtesy of DVS of the Sun-Times: Yoan Moncada, whose rehab stint in Arizona for his adductor strain suffered during his 11th game of the season was halted July 22, doesn’t seem close to returning. “You never want a player to get on the field without him being convinced that he’s ready to play,” Grifol said. Moncada is in the final year of his contract, and whether he plays again for the Sox remains to be seen. He’s making $25 million this season.
  14. No the record for two seasons was 15 straight. Five in a row to close out 1967 and 10 straight to open the 1968 year. Here is the postgame from DVS of the Sun-Times: https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2024/07/31/white-sox-swept-for-fifth-straight-time-losing-streak-reaches-17 “Just keep going, because things in baseball can change from year to year, things in life can change in one second. You could be facing a storm like we are facing and the next day or week or year, you’ll be sunshine and rainbows.” That’s the sound of a manager whose job could be in peril looking at the bright side.
  15. The Kansas City Royals finish the year 12-1 vs. the Sox. Let that sink in. The Kansas City Royals...?
  16. 17 straight...20 is within' reach! Don't stop now boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. He absolutely has in the past.
  18. JR doesn't get the entire sum, remember he has a number of limited partners who would get their share. Personally I think the idea of paying (estimate) 300 million in tax hits when all is said and done is more meaningful to him. All I know is what he has said on rare occasions he has talked about it over the years, he won't sell but has told his family to keep the Bulls and sell the Sox.

  20. And he also despises paying franchise changing talent so much money.

  22. Rays stadium approved, story says they will pay 700 million plus any additional expenses if the project has over runs: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/rays-new-stadium-approved-with-300-million-in-public-funding-the-best-neighborhood-ballpark/
  23. Anything is possible although not very likely. As has been stated, the capital gains tax if JR sells while he is alive is estimated at 200 million PLUS he'd then have to pay Illinois state tax penalty. JR started his professional career working for the IRS, that amount of money grabs his attention. He's not selling, his family will when he passes since in that case the capital gains tax is basically zero.
  24. They have one, scored two runs in the 10th inning to beat Tampa Bay 8-7 on April 27.
