I found this comment by A.J. to be "interesting" myself: "I haven’t gone out of my way to talk to anybody about this job. I haven’t done anything. I was in town for a golf tournament. Did the Cubs game last Saturday, did the White Sox game on Saturday. The way that went, I surely wasn’t treated like somebody they wanted to be around for a long time. People are running with this story. But again, nobody has approached me about this job.”

You are correct.

Fedde/Pham/$ to STL, Kopech to LAD, Miguel Vargas + prospects to Sox

According to Fegan's story at Sox machine: "Rival evaluators were using descriptions for the White Sox package like "light", "weird" and "one of the weaker trade returns for highly sought after players that I've seen in a while." -

Here's a few more numbers to wrap your head around: The Sox have lost the last 15 straight games Flexen has started. Brebbia (0-6) and Soroka (0-10) are now 0-16 combined on the season. 8.5 million of JR's dollars wasted with zero wins. Only in the world of the White Sox. -
Pritzer came out today and said this about the Bears stadium situation to the Tribune. I think you can replace the word Bears with White Sox and come up with the same conclusion: Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Monday said there is almost no chance that a deal will get done this year on a taxpayer-funded stadium for the Chicago Bears, especially since the team has yet to make a proposal that the governor thinks would be acceptable to lawmakers. “I made it clear to the Bears leadership that it would be near impossible to get anything done — if there was a proposal put on the table that could get done, you couldn’t actually get it done, probably, during the veto session and would have to wait until next spring,” Pritzker said, referring to the year’s final legislative session in November, during an unrelated news conference in Chicago. “But in reality, there isn’t a proposal on the table right now that would be acceptable to anyone that I know in the legislature,” he continued.

21 times now when the Sox had a lead in the 7th inning or later...and lost. -
With the latest loss the White Sox have guaranteed themselves another losing season. Since the start of the 2007 season they have one of the worst records in Major League Baseball. Period. Full stop. The numbers don’t lie: 12; losing seasons: (2007, 09, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24) 5; winning seasons: (2008, 10, 12, 20, 21) *2020 season was only 60 games long 1; season at .500 (2022) 3; playoff appearances (2008, 2020, 2021) 3; 1st round playoff losses Overall playoff record 2007-2024: 3-8 Now compare that to the time period from 1981-2006 (1981 being the first season Einhorn/Reinsdorf owned the team) 16; winning seasons: (1981, 82, 83, 85, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 96, 2000, 01, 03, 04, 05, 06) 9; losing seasons (1984, 86, 87, 88, 89, 95, 97, 98, 99) 1; season at .500 (2002) 4; playoff appearances (1983, 1993, 2000, 2005) A World Series championship (2005) Overall playoff record 1981-2006: 14-11 Obviously something dramatic happened starting in 2007 to alter the course of this team and it has only gotten worse and worse over time.

This will be the 21st time the Sox had a lead in the 7th inning or later...and lost the game. Third time Wilson has been directly responsible, Fourth time Brebbia (another waste of JR's money) has been responsible. -

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-trade-grades-why-dodgers-cardinals-both-get-an-a-for-three-team-deadline-deal-with-white-sox/ White Sox get a D grade. For whatever it's worth, three evaluators with rival teams we spoke to agreed that this package felt light. Maybe the White Sox see something -- in Vargas, but also Albertus and Perez -- that will allow them to get the last laugh. -
The Sox haven't lost 17 games in a row (yet.....) A pair of 14 game ones heading into tonight.
-
This is completely true and his "rules" have shown especially since 2007 they do not work. As far as watching this team, he's at all the home games, the mainstream media have shown photos of his in his box.

Would dumping Benintendi's $50 million remaining on LAD
Lip Man 1 replied to caulfield12's topic in Trade Winds 2024
And keep in mind one of those two seasons was only 60 games long playing nothing but bad Central Division clubs, saw the Sox choke and collapse the last 10 days to throw away a #1 seed and have to open the playoffs on the road. -
They may not have to pay a dime if certain conditions are met. MLB will not pass up the chance for a huge payday with expansion fees: https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/sports/mlb/oakland-athletics/athletics-las-vegas-relocation-fee-stadium/3244260/#:~:text=Jeremy Aguero%2C an A's consultant, place (h%2Ft The Nevada

There is a difference between a relocation fee and an expansion fee. Estimates are the Nashville group headed up by Dave Stewart and TLR may have to pay TWO BILLION dollars to join MLB.
-
How the F are we ever going to build an offense?
Lip Man 1 replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They have averaged more than that at various times. But it all comes down to winning. -
Exactly correct. MLB wants the enormous sums an expansion team would have to pay to join the league.
