  1. To the Sun-Times: “Obviously disappointing, this is not something we planned for. Something we didn’t really expect.” “You can’t pinpoint it in one area because there have been times where we’ve made mistakes mentally and physically on the field defensively. There have been times where we have not executed a game plan. There have been times where, on the pitching end, we leave a ball out over the plate.” ?
  2. With this Sox bullpen they really don't have any "good" relief pitchers. All flotsam and jetsam, dumpster dives save for maybe Leasure who still may have a future.
  3. I'm positive he wouldn't have. One good thing though, it may have been the factor that drove him out of the game.
  4. But remember the franchise simply couldn't "waste" a season bringing in an outsider to be the G.M. ?
  5. And with that the White Sox close the worst first half in the 124 year history of the franchise. Clowns and buffoons. ?? Hope JR enjoys watching the product on the field.
  6. Well he has to know already the big league team isn't capable of squat. So who else could he be talking about other than the kids he saw in the spring and so far this year. If he isn't that has to be perceived as a comment on his big league teammates. And he isn't wrong, they are clowns and buffoons but to say that out loud? Or to imply it is something that doesn't happen often.
  7. Robert had some interesting things to say apparently today after loss #70 to the Sun-Times. This is from their post game report: Given the Sox’s current state, Robert said he doesn’t know if the team has the building blocks in place to lift it back into playoff contention. He also hasn’t talked to general manager Chris Getz about his future, but he’s trying to remain in the present as uncertainty continues to loom around him until the deadline passes or a deal is made. “I’m here,” Robert said. “My mind is here and until something changes, I’m here.” I don't know if this is a shot at the organization and the kids in the minor leagues or what. He has to know this is going to take a few years to get right again (if ever).
  8. Is this person who works for the Royals the one who has been giving you advice on what the Sox should be doing? ? Also since I went to Brother Rice it would be nice to get him but ONLY IF HE CAN ACTUALLY PLAY! Frankly I could care less if the player is a "good guy" or an ass. Can he play? That's all that should matter now to this incompetent, dysfunctional and inept organization.
  9. Folks and fans it is now official! The Sox now have more losses than any other team in MLB history before the All-Star break. 70 was the magic number. It breaks the tie they had at 69 with the 2018 Orioles and the 1979 Athletics. Congratulations go out to the three stooges on this honor...JR, Getz and Grifol! ???
  10. Well you know how I feel Greg, if you are going to be hot garbage but HISTORICALLY hot garbage and bad! At least be good at something! ?
  11. To JR 25 million is a LOT different and it's his philosophy over the decades that players aren't worth that kind of money. I'm not holding my breath this is ever going to happen under his watch.
  12. The largest deal they have ever given out is 75 million. Assuming JR would eventually agree to a 100 million dollar deal is a real stretch in my opinion.
  13. Folks you've got to admit having 70 losses before the All-Star break is pretty impressive in a sick sort of way! ?
  14. Here is the reason he's not selling: https://www.southsidesox.com/2022/8/29/23325369/jerry-reinsdorf-selling-chicago-white-sox-not-on-his-life
  15. Apparently on the Mets broadcast tonight the announcers said that no team has ever had 69 losses before the All-Star break. The All-Star Game as many know started in July 1933 at Comiskey Park. Record setting! ?
  16. The 1962 Mets were 23-59 before the first of the two All-Star games played that season. The first one was on July 10 at Washington. So it looks like the Sox do indeed hold the record!
  17. Again...whom are these "baseball experts" that are giving you the advice of what the Sox should be doing.
  18. I wonder what the MLB record is for the most losses by a team at the All-Star break?
  19. Again with respect I'd like to know who these "baseball experts" are so I can determine if they really know what they are supposedly talking about.
  20. With respect we understand your point of view, now it is time to accept the reality of things. If he isn't traded in the next two weeks it will be this off season because an extension will not be forthcoming.
  21. The record shows it has been 18 times they took a lead into the 7th inning or later...and lost the game. Only one time this season have they trailed in the 7th inning or later...and won.
