  1. They did it! They actually went and did it...20 straight losses...shall we try for 30? Why the hell not!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Wilson is absolutely brutal just like everyone this year in the God awful bullpen.
  2. Assuming they have the stones to go through with it, Sox fest next winter should be a real hoot. Frank Thomas was one the postgame show a few nights ago and he was royally pissed off, you could see it in his face and the tone of his voice. He was embarrassed.
  3. The longest losing streak of the modern era was set by the 61 Phillies who lost 23 straight.
  4. I believe based on his history he personally considers it fiscally irresponsible to pay an individual that much money. Remember he's the guy who told MJ that he (meaning JR) would regret paying him that salary.
  5. Once again the Sox were in the game late until Brebbia put it out of reach. He was an atrocious signing.
  6. https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2024/08/02/white-sox-pitcher-drew-thorpe-going-on-injured-list "Dr." Grifol doesn't think it is serious. We'll see soon enough.
  7. Good point. It's not just the people working with and dealing with the athletes directly but the individuals who make personnel decisions, scout and development. It's all completely rotten to the core and needs to be expunged (ya like that word!) No trace of current ownership needs to remain, the entire franchise needs to start fresh and renew hope and good feelings.
  8. Yes the owner is responsible for hiring incompetent individuals in the departments that deal with the athletes directly. This organization needs a complete enema. Flush all the s%*# away.
  9. My God, I think they are really going to do it! 20 straight losses soon!
  10. No they just need new ownership to come in, fire everyone on the baseball side of the operations from top to bottom and hire competent people.
  11. No they can not unless they feel he has done something illegal or is doing something fiscally irresponsible. Even then they'd have to prove it. Get used to it, he is here and in charge until he is no longer with us.

  14. The 1916 Philadelphia A's were 2-28 in July so at least someone was worse. LOL
  15. Remember he was rated THE #1 minor league prospect in all of baseball. That's called an epic fail in my book.
  16. A tweet I saw a few weeks ago, I think it was from Jay Cuda said the Sox only have two full time scouts and five analytics people.
  17. Just look at what Pham has already done. Given the complete dysfunction of the Sox organization from top to bottom we shouldn't be surprised guys actually start to produce when they get out of this dumpster fire and go to an organization that knows what they are doing.
  18. fWAR, WAR, ZWAR, ABC, XYZ et al doesn't mean squat when you are always on the injured list. From the people I spoke with all connected to the organization in various way for my November 2022 story: “The problem is some of these guys just don’t care, they want to win sure but they already have gotten their money with these contracts before they proved anything. Moncada would strike out and just walk back to the dugout like no big deal, he fouls a ball off and now he can’t play for three days? His contract makes him untradable but he needs to go.”
  19. Grifol was asked before the game if he thinks he is a good manager: “I think I am. I really do,” Grifol said. “And I think managing is motivating people to play and work hard every single day. I think managing is preparing and making good decisions and serving people and including people. It’s not up for me to decide. I don’t make decisions on whether I’m a good manager or not. That’s for other people to decide.” ?? Guy is now certifiably delusional.
  20. Moncada update courtesy of DVS of the Sun-Times: Yoan Moncada, whose rehab stint in Arizona for his adductor strain suffered during his 11th game of the season was halted July 22, doesn’t seem close to returning. “You never want a player to get on the field without him being convinced that he’s ready to play,” Grifol said. Moncada is in the final year of his contract, and whether he plays again for the Sox remains to be seen. He’s making $25 million this season.
  21. No the record for two seasons was 15 straight. Five in a row to close out 1967 and 10 straight to open the 1968 year. Here is the postgame from DVS of the Sun-Times: https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2024/07/31/white-sox-swept-for-fifth-straight-time-losing-streak-reaches-17 “Just keep going, because things in baseball can change from year to year, things in life can change in one second. You could be facing a storm like we are facing and the next day or week or year, you’ll be sunshine and rainbows.” That’s the sound of a manager whose job could be in peril looking at the bright side.
  22. The Kansas City Royals finish the year 12-1 vs. the Sox. Let that sink in. The Kansas City Royals...?
  23. 17 straight...20 is within' reach! Don't stop now boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. He absolutely has in the past.
