“We’re going through a really bad stretch right now offensively,” Grifol said. “But that’s not who these guys are. They’re proven major-league hitters.” ?????
-
Very true.

DVS quoted Robert as saying the injury is to the same muscle but in a different area. I don't know if that makes any difference.

History shows if the club isn't winning they aren't going to draw regardless of where a stadium is located. I completely understand that mentality myself, that's the object of the game to win. "Winning" to me doesn't mean getting to the World Series every year but putting together competitive stretches over time with good players and giving yourself a reasonable chance. It seems other teams including teams that don't have the inherent advantages the Sox have in Chicago (one example is Tampa Bay) have been able to do this but that somehow escapes this organization. As Kenny once said, "It is what it is..."

So is this franchise from top to bottom.

In 2006 the Sox drew a franchise record 2,957,414 fans. Winning solves a lot of problems including attendance. Something JR has never understood.

I think one time was when he crashed into the wall trying to make a catch.

This ads more weight to trying to get Robert back healthy and then trade him for what you can get. Sox will be a disaster for the next few years and even if he stays healthy they won't extend him. The only thing that could change that scenario is if new ownership is in place in the next year or two.

Getz off season acquisitions have been awful so far.

“We are going to go out there and compete our asses off and play baseball the right way and see what happens.”--Pedro Grifol. ????? -
There was some type of family issue that caused him to miss a month. Some posters have talked about it in detail at this site at times.

I completely agree about the medical, training and conditioning staffs for reasons I've stated the past few years. -

From DVS post game story tonight at the Sun-Times: Robert injured his right hip flexor, pulling up after rounding first base. In 2021, he suffered a Grade 3 strain (complete tear) of the same hip flexor. Robert walked off slowly under his own power. Manager Pedro Grifol said Robert would be re-evaluated Saturday. "He’s hard to replace," Grifol said. "You don’t replace a guy like him, but at the same time, next man up. We have to go out and continue to fight and do the things we need to do." It was a cruel blow to to a team that has lost six of its first seven games for the fourth time in franchise history and for the first time since 1995. In the most winnable division in baseball, the Sox are 0-5. "The worst thing we can do and this is not going to happen is feel sorry for ourselves," Grifol said. "We are not going to do that. "I'm proud of our guys, man. There's a lot of energy. These guys want to win every single day. They play to win. They care. They care for each other." It will take more than that to win games, however. One hundred and fifty-five to go." Just my opinion but if this organization was a horse it would have been shot years ago. -
Unless there is something else going on behind the scenes as has been rumored I have to agree with you.

And don't forget they also lost Brebbia to the same injury he had a week into spring training. The baseball gods have made it clear until new ownership arrives they are going to keep dumping on this organization in anyway that they can. -

May 2, 2021 – Seasons can change in a heartbeat and on this day the high expectations for the White Sox took a stunning turn for the worse. Five tool outfielder Luis Robert, the Gold Glove outfielder and runner up in the 2020 Rookie of the Year voting completely tore his right hip flexor when beating out a ground ball in the first inning in a 5-0 loss to the Indians. The White Sox were already without the services of Robert’s teammate Eloy Jimenez, one of the top young sluggers in the game, because of an injury that happened late in spring training. Robert wasn’t even able to try to resume baseball activities for a period of a few months. His loss left a gaping hole both offensively and defensively in the White Sox lineup but remarkably after a grueling rehab he returned to the team on August 9 in Minnesota and helped contribute to the club winning the Central Division with a total of 93 victories. His injury-luck though continued into the 2022 season when he missed time with vertigo, blurred vision and worst of all, a sprained left wrist that never properly healed and was so bad at times he was swinging a bat one-handed. -

13 runs in seven games and Robert gets hurt. All you can do is laugh as this total s%*# show. -
You forget, there's always Hawaii.

These back to back headlines at the White Sox site are classic: With 'warrior' mentality, Eloy pushes forward Injuries & Moves: Eloy (left adductor) lands on 10-day IL The jokes write themselves.

Their 1-for-7 showing with runners in scoring position dropped the South Siders to 4-for-32 in that category for the season. It's also interesting that the tribune this morning had a story quoting Iloy as saying he was feeling much better. They put him on the 10day injured list this afternoon. ? -

Cease, Burger, Robert, Davis Martin, Crochet, Madrigal, Sheets, Jimmy Lambert, Zach Remillard, Rey Lopez, Giolito, Jimenez, Yoan, Kopech, Cristian Mena, Lenyn Sosa. Just an outsider looking in to this discussion: Cease not really developed by the Sox came from the Cubs where he spent a lot of his minor league time Burger because of his injuries really did most of his rehab/development on his own. Not a lot of Sox input Robert Sox did develop him somewhat to be sure but he was considered one of the best amateur players in the world Martin What? Guy has done very little even when he didn't blow out his arm Crochet guy has been basically injured, has made two starts, let's see how things turn out Madrigal nothing but injuries and was rushed to the majors, Sox didn't develop him a lot Sheets What? total bust Lambert What? total bust Remillard What? Career AAAA player, he's a "success?" Lopez spent most of his minor league time with the Nationals, inconsistent with the Sox, maybe some credit here Giolito This is the guy I think the Sox should get the most credit for helping turn into an All-Star. Jimenez What? Your joking right? Moncada What? Your joking part II Kopech What? Your joking part III All three of the above guys have been not total busts but tremendous disappointments with limited success Mena jury is very much out on him to see if he does better in another organization Sosa don't see how anyone can say he's a success given very limited track record
