  1. I agree with you overall but the Mariners actually have a decent amount of talent on their MLB roster. An offense featuring D. Santana (still can't believe Milwaukee gave him up for so little), Haniger, Encarnacion, Smith, Bruce, Gordon, and dare I say Narvaez, is probably significantly better than ours. Kikuchi and Gonzales should be solid, and while their pitching sucks outside of those two, so does ours.
  2. We're gonna get to the 3 spot in the tank standings, then get the #7 pick while the team that was in the 4 spot gets the #1 pick
  3. @elrockinMT @Chisoxfn I think a sideboard for this by the scoreboard or Future Sox area would really increase the subforum's popularity. Just my opinion
  4. Kanny will be fun for the reasons mentioned in the first post. I'm really excited to follow Bush, Nunez/Sosa, and Zangari over a full season. I'm hopeful that they're a little more aggressive with promoting Zangari to Winston-Salem if he stays healthy
  5. I remember hearing this somewhere. It would make sense given Preller's shady past with medical records
  6. Obviously I can’t know this for sure but I believe Frare would’ve made it over Banuelos if they had to choose. I think that he and Fry will be an excellent lefty reliever pairing for us long-term
  7. @ KC 2-1 @ CLE 0-2 vs. SEA 1-2 vs. TB 1-2 @ NYY 0-3 vs. KC 2-1 @ DET 2-2 @ BAL 2-1 vs. DET 2-1 vs. BAL 2-1 14-16
  8. He's the second best outfielder on the roster, or third depending on whether or not Leury Garcia is being considered as an outfielder
  9. I know this isn't the annual "bold" predictions thread but I'll make some of that nature: -Moncada has a 100 walk season and leads the team in OBP -Eloy misses about half of the season due to a knee injury but puts up a .915 OPS -Giolito ensures that he will not make the 2020 Opening Day roster with his performance -Blake Rutherford has a slugging percentage lower than his on base percentage -Basabe comes back in late May but struggles mightily and never gets in a groove all year -Zack Collins finds his power stroke in Charlotte and puts up monster numbers -Luis Robert is the #1 prospect in all of baseball by the end of the year
  10. Yup. I believe he has the highest ceiling of any player in the organization and it isn't particularly close.
  11. Are we sure that the White Sox official Twitter account is a good source?
  12. Not when the veteran literally has negative value. The Ryan Goins and Danny Mendick types are better options IMO
  13. Thank you. Alcides Escobar is almost indescribably bad. He was never that good to begin with, but he has aged horribly.
  14. Predictable or not, if Vaughn is there at 3 and we take him, it's a good pick.
  15. No, it's code for "taking a physical so that his contract can be finalized and he can return to Major League camp in the coming days", hopefully
  16. There was a point, relatively early on, where he was pretty much all off-speed. I couldn't really tell the difference between his curveball and change-up from where I was sitting but everything was 82-83 for awhile. Then he'd reach back and mix in 96. I think part of the problem is how predictable he was, in terms of whether he was throwing off-speed or not.
  17. If anyone is interested, I went to this game and wrote about some impressions: https://soxon35th.com/2019/03/21/spring-training-takeaways-march-20-2019/
