Dylan Cease: 2021 Darkhorse Cy Young Candidate
Jose Abreu replied to MeanJoeCrede's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He has looked very sharp in ST but let's see if he can throw strikes consistently in the regular season before we get to this level. I just want a sub-4 ERA season with 150+ innings -
Yup, Eaton batting 2nd has been reported since the day he was signed. I hate it but I've accepted it

Mariners president and CEO Kevin Mather's Zoom Call
Jose Abreu replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in The Diamond Club
I know you're trolling, but I genuinely hope you realize that this isn't what people are upset about. It isn't that you can't comment on someone's ability to handle a second language, it's that you don't do it out of the blue and for no reason. It's like calling someone fat and then getting defensive and saying "but it's true!" when there was no reason to even bring that up. But maybe that example will be lost on you since you probably wouldn't have an issue with that behavior -
2020 NBA Regular Season Thread

Absolutely. While his efficiency probably can't get any better, his turnovers would go way down with a true point guard on the roster -
Mariners president and CEO Kevin Mather's Zoom Call

You won't get a response to this, I tried. Just a bunch of whataboutisms that don't even address the fact that he went out of his way to make the comments for no reason -
Mariners president and CEO Kevin Mather's Zoom Call

At the very least, it's extremely disrespectful to criticize the English speaking skills of foreign players for seemingly no reason. If you have some justification for it other than repeatedly defending it through downplaying and sarcastic concern, I'd love to hear it. -

Bulls came back from down 25, largest comeback in the NBA this year. LaVine took over in the 3rd, Williams made a clutch shot to seal it -
Only JR knew of new TLR DUI upon interview and hire
Jose Abreu replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
JR strikes me as the kind of guy who doesn't think the expense of an external consultant is worth the potential reward. Especially when they're "tapped out" -
Long before there was Tim Anderson, there was Rickey Henderson
Jose Abreu replied to VAfan's topic in The Diamond Club
I don't know about you guys but I think we really need a few more TLR threads today -
Right? Athlete songs/music videos are almost always bad, but he's actually a good singer and the song is objectively well made

I'll add that if they bat Eaton 2nd and Moncada 6th (or something like that), they'll look foolish once Moncada is lighting the league on fire
-
FWIW, Nightengale (who has obviously nailed the entire White Sox offseason) said Eaton will bat at the top of the order
-
I think that would make things even worse. A salary floor is what the game needs

Foodies: Sox/Giolito discussing an extension?????
Jose Abreu replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ironically, he was the first reporter to get the Eloy contract extension, and after getting mocked for a week, Passan/Rosenthal etc. ended up crediting him -
Keuchel was listed as one of the "just missed" players before they started, but I'm very confident in the rest of those guys being included

So maybe we don’t need another reliable starter after all
Jose Abreu replied to Sticky Stuff's topic in Pale Hose Talk
True, his average HR distance fell from 409 feet in 2019 to 393 feet in 2020. Either way, I'm not too concerned about this change with him -
So maybe we don’t need another reliable starter after all
Jose Abreu replied to Sticky Stuff's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah, from a home run distance standpoint, Jimenez, Robert, Grandal, etc. aren't hitting wall-scrapers. I think this hurts the guys who popped up in 2019 with newfound power strokes more than anything -

I can't wait for the Lonzo Ball trade. He's going to make the rest of the roster look so much better -
Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Jose Abreu replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
I don't know if this is just great timing or if you're aware of all of the rumors, but this is literally what they're doing right now with the rumored Carson Wentz deal -
Jonathan Lucroy signs minor league deal with White Sox
Jose Abreu replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
And neither of them are even plus defenders at those positions
