  1. Looking like it could be another rain delay kind of start for Kopech.
  2. That outfielder guy has an intriguing plate discipline profile. The pitcher has good stats but is way old for his leagues
  3. Why would they make that statement if they didn’t want to shoot Nightengale’s report down? I can’t think of many logical reasons
  4. No I wasn’t. I agree that it’s not as important but if they were gonna call him up this season, they could have/should have done it a month or two ago. He’s been ready
  5. Especially considering he’ll probably only be used every other week like Burr
  6. Really thought they’d want the extra year out of Hamilton
  7. Between the potential of Fry, Frare, Schryver, Hamilton, Johnson, Ruiz, Burdi, Burr, failed starter prospects, etc. I'm not sure if they'll even have to. Unless it's a one year deal for 2019
  8. They certainly have shots. Barring injuries or trades, I feel like Kopech, Rodon, and Dunning are locks. Cease is no sure thing but he sure has a high ceiling. To me it was between Giolito and Lopez for 5 and even if it's recency bias, I still feel as though Giolito has the better long-term makeup there. Lopez is a major leaguer, I just don't know if it's as a starter or a high leverage reliever
  9. Can always count on Caulfield in game threads for the random, negative post at an irrelevant time
  10. Burr with a 1-2-3 inning against the heart of the order of the best team in baseball. Can't wait for his next outing on September 9th.
  11. As much as I may be a FO "apologist" I still really don't trust that they'll have the stones to can Ricky anytime soon.
  12. That's a straw man, the issue is that Giolito was trotted out to start the 7th when his night should've been over.
  13. Eh, I stand by that. We needed to see if he was actually decent and flippable. Now we know the answer.
  14. If we gave Gomez a clean start to the inning I don't think more than 1 run would've ended up scoring
  15. I thought we could flip him but at this point it's too late and he sucks
  16. Yeah, but there are honestly a dozen or so runs that he shouldn't have allowed this year because of our manager
  17. Allow a baserunner, then have him score at the hands of a reliever, adding a run to Giolito's line. It's clearly the plan because it's what happens every time.
  18. Don't get me wrong, I do too. But this is just the worst of his decisions or lack thereof IMO.
  19. I'm usually not the kind of guy (at least I like to think so) who thinks managers should be fired because of one certain situation. But the mishandling of Burr and Vieira is getting really indefensible. It's one thing to not want to expose them to high pressure spots early on. It's another thing to literally just let them rot away in the bullpen. I don't know what reasoning Ricky could possibly have.
