See above. If the question were "what are the odds they decline his option, then re-sign him anyway to a cheaper 1-year deal as a 5th starter until Cease is ready", then I'd probably put it closer to 25%
At this point I'd be too excited to watch him play to care about the service time implications. Especially with the possibility of a new CBA that changes everything. But the timing would certainly be puzzling.
I think he used to work at 670. I didn't share it because he has a source or anything, but just because I haven't really heard that reasoning used yet. By "he should be up later this week", he was speaking out of what Eloy deserves rather than inside information or anything.
If that were the case then winning a World Series every year would be laughably easy. A team full of 3 WAR players would be the greatest sports team ever assembled.
Not to take away from Rodon, but it seems like there have been like 8 or 9 games this year that Tim Anderson has won singlehandedly. Defense, offense, baserunning. This was one of those games.
I'm just going off memory and not stats-
When Minaya starts an inning, he seems to be ok.
When he comes in with inherited runners, he seems rattled and pitches much worse.
That's a question I've wondered myself, in a way- if I could GUARANTEE a White Sox World Series win by paying money to some baseball deity, how much would I be willing to pay without any hesitation? It's tough.
