  1. He went 1-4 in game one of the doubleheader, I guess they just don't want to push it with him. Though I had hoped he'd DH game 2.
  2. I'm not sure I follow your first point- are you saying, hypothetically, you wouldn't want us to sign Machado or Harper because you'd rather keep the draft pick?
  3. I agree. We know what Yolmer is at this point. Might as well see what we have with Rondon. I like his swing
  4. That’s very true, but acting like Moncada has been so bad that he could be out of baseball within 3 years is still just woefully meatheaded analysis, and the type of talk that might be expected from an impatient 12 year old.
  5. The difference is that LaMarre is just another guy, whereas Cordell is/was a prospect we traded Swarzak for, so if he's ready, we need to give him a shot while we still can
  6. .782 in August, I didn't know his July lowered it that much. Either way, he's like 26/27 and there's no reason for LaMarre to get PAs over him. Cordell might not get a shot in our organization after this season with Eloy coming, FAs next year, etc
  7. His power potential as a SS/3B isn't something you can teach. Yolmer, as a regular, is a net negative offensively
  8. Thanks for posting. That was a well written article, as always
  9. Also, Jose Rondon is probably a better player than Yolmer Sanchez if given similar ABs, in my opinion
  10. Nice to see Yoan with a good right handed at bat. Tim looking good too.
  11. He has 179 and a league average hitter with 519 PAs (same as Moncada) would have 115. So the answer is 64
  12. It's an irrelevant question because Moncada doesn't strike out 39% of the time, and if he did (with no improvement) then he would actually end up being a bust. His K-rate is 34%, not 39%, and it will likely decrease as he matures as a hitter.
  13. Even the Rays don't do this with their premier starters. Snell, Archer (before the trade), etc. actually start the games. I don't know if we'd need to do it with Kopech and so on. At least, I hope we don't have to
  14. Unrelated but for some reason the way he says "Comerica Park" really bothers me
  15. Absolutely. Not to mention a decent start from Lopez (bad defense behind him), good relief outings from future guys like Vieira, Fry (hopefully), etc.
  16. I don't remember if it's you or someone else who often points out Abreu's high leverage stats as below his career averages (but still respectable), but you/whoever that is may be pleased to know that Moncada seems to be quite good in those situations. His high leverage and clutch stats are way better than his normal stats. When the game is on the line, bases loaded, etc. he becomes a machine. Only swings at strikes, and when he does, he kills them
  17. I know it's meaningless with this sample size and rust, but given how high of a ceiling he has, I don't know how to feel about Robert's swing and miss rate so far
  18. They lost yesterday- but had they won, you're still allowed to start the game thread if there isn't one up by first pitch
  19. Lopez may throw 98 but it's so flat and hittable. It's nice to have Kopech, who seems like he can sit at 96-98 but with movement
