  1. I know this is a game thread but if the Padres ruin their rebuild like this...
  2. Moncada and TA doing very well tonight. Good to see
  3. I believe Trout is 0-something against Rodon in his career. There's some stat where Trout, Betts, Bryant, maybe Goldschmidt or someone, etc. are 0-20 against Rodon. Purposely waiting to post this until after the AB so I can't be a jinx
  4. My roommate is actually good friends with Kyle Muller from high school. I didn't realize how good he has been this year. I'd be happy with that deal
  5. I think he's this month's grossly overrated Yankee by fans/media so people think he has a ton of trade value. I can't even have a conversation with a Yankees fan lately without them bringing up how good Drury is.
  6. Of course it's not much sample size, and while his numbers may worsen, I think that he has the control and makeup to remain an effective reliever if healthy. Groome, on the other hand, is someone who may never be healthy. Relievers are indeed insanely volatile but I'd still be hesitant to give up on one who's so promising, cheap, and throws 5 quality pitches
  7. I truly think you have to be a lunatic to take him seriously at this point. He says one thing and then backtracks it 5 minutes later and his base pretends that the first thing never happened. Rinse and repeat.
  8. Not really. If we trade 6 years of Fry for Chavis I'd be really annoyed. The guy is a lefty with an 11.6 K/9, good control, and left handed hitters hit .093 against him with a .299 OPS. His deception and profile do not scream regression to me. At some point we need to start keeping the guys who will be here until 2024. I understand the always trade relievers thing but Fry is an exception to me with his team control and consistency. The only way I can see us winning a trade in which we let him go is if he gets injured.
  9. I don't see the point in acquiring a basically league-average hitting, poor fielding, 26 year old utility infielder. As @JUSTgottaBELIEVE said, he's like Yolmer- kind of the anti-Yolmer because he's more offense first while Yolmer is more defense first. I don't see the fit
  10. Exactly, so it’s even more dangerous to play 2 innings and risk anything.
  11. If he were having heart problems that prevented him from playing, then why did he end up playing the last 2 innings anyway? Wouldn't it be best for him to just sit out?
  12. Avi has entered the game as a defensive replacement in the 8th inning. Ok then. Guess he's not too sick to play after all? Maybe there was something to that conspiracy
  13. Patience is key with him. I don't think he'll ever be as good from the right side as he is from the left, but I do think he'll improve steadily from the right side with more reps.
  14. Forgot about postseason. If he keeps playing like this though, and it's clear he'll be in AA to start 2019, getting him acclimated there for a week or two can't hurt. But yes, with the postseason, it may be moot
  15. You can safely assume that the timing of the eyeballs and the scratch was a coincidence
  16. Throwing over to second in general is such a high risk play. I don't get why we do it so much
  17. I want to agree with you but even for a "tanking" team, I would've liked to assume that he would have been long gone by now. So many guys who can take his role in center. Mainly Leury
  18. I think he should be promoted before the season ends to give him a taste of AA. Kind of like what we did with Eloy last year. Hopefully by then the OF logjam is a little less prevalent in AA
  19. I'm so done with this. If he starts on the MLB roster in 2019 I seriously won't attend a single game
