  1. Please pinch hit someone, anyone, for Engel
  2. Smith takes 96 MPH to the shoulder like a champ
  3. I love watching him, but I also feel like he may be in a different uniform next week
  4. Hoping the slump is over. It would be so Abreu of him to finish the season with like an .850 OPS overall
  5. Moncada looked legitimately surprised that the umpire called ball four (on an obvious ball). Can't say I blame him
  6. Not worth it. he's average defensively once you factor in how bad his arm is. He'd have to be at least an 80 wRC+ guy for me to be ok with us running him out there every day
  7. Even with his pitching prowess? Are you saying that because of injury risk?
  8. If (big if) Ohtani can stay healthy enough to play a full season, I see an MVP in his future
  9. I'm about ready for Davidson to be DFA'd. Get more ABs to Palka/Delmonico
  10. Haven't seen an Anderson misplay like that for awhile.
  11. Even Steve Stone is getting annoyed with the calls Moncada gets
  12. Moncada checked that swing but of course gets called out
  13. No problem, the Twitter conspiracies were rampant so I wanted to share here as well
  14. Giolito's mechanics are looking good. If he can locate like this then he may have a future as a starter
  15. I really hate watching Kevan Smith bat, for whatever reason. Maybe it's because he swings at junk or has no power, but so do a lot of guys and for some reason it annoys me more with him
  16. Davidson changed his stance. He lifts his front leg earlier and leaves it up longer. Also waves his bat a little more pre-pitch.
  17. Scratched due to illness. I put a conspiracy in Trade Winds, there were some eyeball tweets before he got scratched lol
  18. If Moncada were batting those would've been called strikes anyway
  19. No, it's just more important that Engel gets ABs. (I know Delmonico can't play center, but Leury can yet he's in a corner spot)
  20. Here are the facts. At 5:51 PM CT, FutureSox's Clinton Cole tweets this: He has since sarcastically replied that this was about a pizza that he was eating. At about 6:40 PM, the White Sox announced that Avisail Garcia was scratched from the lineup and was feeling "under the weather". Rick Renteria was not very descriptive about Avi's illness. And, finally, on the pre-game show, Chuck Garfien almost cryptically implied that Avi may be traded before the deadline. Maybe he isn't really under the weather. Anyway, this is a pretty wild conspiracy without much evidence but it's being talked about on Twitter so I figured I'd bring it here.
  21. That doesn't mean it's not rehab. Madrigal was assigned to Kannapolis, for example, but everyone knows it's a rehab stint and he's being promoted soon. Could be similar here, except not as publicized
  22. Yeah, most of them do and there are a select few that concern themselves with newer metrics. Either way, they're athletes, not necessarily intellectuals, and I don't fault them for using the stats that were available since they were kids. It's different with fans, though.
  23. That would be my ideal scenario. However, after 8.1 shutout innings, the timing wouldn't be ideal for Covey to lose his spot. Regardless, I don't think he's a starter long-term and I would like to see his innings (and Shields') given to Kopech and Stephens.
  24. And from a catcher, they're more than just respectable. They're a major asset
  25. You'd think a lot of it is youthful instant gratification culture. That said, however, you'd expect them to be happy or at least content with Moncada's numbers. But the numbers they seem to care about are outdated ones like batting average or fielding percentage. That may be a clue as to the demographic of posters who are so anti-Moncada.
