  1. You can easily replace 7 of his strikeouts with walks this year. Ridiculous
  2. I know someone said the other day how DSL stats are so weird since literally all we can do is look at the box scores. I wonder if bad umpiring is also a factor in pitchers sometimes having crazy walk totals down there.
  3. While I feel bad for Tatis himself, can't say I feel bad for Preller.
  4. He did look a little slower than I remembered but maybe he's just taking it easy as he just came back from the strained adductor
  5. At least that was called an error on Thompson. There could easily be 3 errors on the Knights defense today
  6. I know you asked someone else but I am also watching and can confirm that none of the hits have been hard. In fact they've mostly been weak, KC specials
  7. It's nice to be able to watch these games as opposed to just looking at the box score. He's allowed like, 5 hits and 1 walk, but it's all weak contact, the walk was on the umpire, and 2 of the hits should have been easy outs.
  8. I don't know where you're getting that. Not talking about his minor league stats. He's just a guy who swings early and often. If he tweaks his approach, that's great, but judging by his interviews, he doesn't plan on it
  9. Haha, not too hard when you strike out like 4 times a year! It's more his walk rate that I'm getting at. He's a guy who, with a full season of PAs, projects between 35-45 walks or so, once you factor in higher quality pitching that he's facing. That's not bad at all but when you're not hitting for any power whatsoever, it puts a LOT of pressure on your hit tool. Luckily, his hit tool is fantastic.
  10. Pitched around all of it. Great job.
  11. I think he's frustrated. He should be out of this inning but his defense failed him on a grounder and the umpire made some questionable calls on the walk. No excuse for his body language and something he should work on, but there's a reason at least
  12. Clint Frazier pulled from AAA game. Some think he hurt himself on a diving play earlier, others claim he stayed in the game and was fine after said play
  13. He's ready. Save for that stretch where he was dealing with the death of his cousin, he has looked really good. I want to see him against Toronto two weekends from now
  14. It's also anti-walk. That's why I'm wary of his potential. He'll hit for average but won't slug and won't have much value with OBP relative to his average, barring changes in his approach
  15. Andrelton Simmons is laughing at you
  16. Totally agree that it shouldn't be September. It should be now (late July/early August) or next April. I just happen to lean towards the former.
  17. I'm not talking about two weeks, I'm talking about waiting until late April rather than calling them up in the coming weeks
  18. Couldn't it be more valuable for the players in question to develop against MLB competition while we aren't competing, rather than throwing them into the thick of it when we're trying to contend? They're gonna need time to adjust. I'd rather have them be ready and able to hold their own in MLB in 2020 than actively hurt their development to maybe possibly have them in 2025, as the CBA will probably change those rules.
  19. Callis wrote today that Basabe will be considered for a top 100 spot in his next update
  20. To an extent, sure, but keep in mind Abreu is signed for 2019 too. If he's still in a downward spiral by the end of August, maybe I'll reconsider my stance. For now, I'll consider this his yearly extended slump where he looks completely awful. Regardless, I'd be willing to bet that Abreu from tomorrow to the end of 2019 will be a better offensive player than Bird in the same span.
  21. Yes they are but I would still be hesitant to say goodbye to 6 years of Fry. His peripherals and deception have me convinced that he'll be an effective reliever.
