If you're going to base your opinion of him on a 126 PA sample, you need to have something more than just the results of the PAs. As someone who watched many of them, he was killing the ball and seemed to be pretty unlucky. He had a .270 BABIP which, for a player of his caliber, is probably at least 60 points below what it would actually be over a real sample at A+

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Jose Abreu replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
I’m just confused at this point. Both national guys and our own insiders like Harold are saying the Sox will be spending this offseason, especially after hiring TLR. But not on Bauer, not on Springer, not on insert real difference-maker here. Maybe my idea of spending is just misguided. That said, I would be happy, although not overwhelmed, by an offseason of Joc + Lynn + Quintana, or something close to that -
I can’t speak for Richmond, whom I’m less familiar with, but no leftist considers Neera Tanden to be one of them, FWIW. I think people see her race/gender and occupation and just assume she’s progressive. Her actual views that I see her express are fairly close to Biden’s
-
She antagonizes leftists and is essentially an establishment liberal disguised as progressive. Basically the poster child for racial diversity not equaling actual progress or ideological diversity. https://twitter.com/briebriejoy has some tweets that explain it
-
I assume by "these guys", you mean Blake Snell, Sonny Gray types? Because I feel pretty confident that Lance Lynn and Joe Musgrove will be moved

Exactly. Imagine that version of Dunn batting in the 7-9 area of the lineup and playing a good RF. That would be a very valuable player
-
I'm one of the few who liked Dunn from 2012-2014 so I'd be thrilled with that production from our right fielder + Gallo's solid defense. I don't think that package gets close to Snell or Gray but I hear you. I do tend to think that Darvish, despite the big contract, fetches closer to what Snell/Gray will get than what Lynn/Musgrove will get just because of his track record though. That said, I still don't believe Darvish will get a blue chip prospect because of the $59 million remaining
-
He really is. For as much as people would hate him due to the high-risk/high-reward offensive approach, this team is begging for a gold glove caliber right fielder who bats left-handed, takes walks, and hits home runs. He checks all the boxes
-
Yeah, I've seen a lot of suggestions that Darvish would require one of Kopech/Vaughn and I just don't agree. In normal circumstances, sure. But 3/59 in this economic environment probably won't get a top 25 prospect, no matter who the player being dealt is. I see that as more of a Cease/Dunning and Madrigal, plus one of the Kelley/Thompson/Dalquist types.

Gallo has 2 years and both would be somewhat easy to extend

Antifa International Headquarters Incorporated is allegedly paying out $1,000,000 checks (signed by George Soros, of course) for it to happen this week in California!

Yeah that swing video doesn't really impress me but I hope he does well. Was surprised to see him protected today

The one thing many (myself included) have been overlooking about the TLR hire is that the sac bunts are totally back. I'll always cherish the literal one year we let them die
-
For sure. That's why I'd be content to continue quarantining as I have been since March if I don't get the vaccine. That said, I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting it as soon as it's made available to me, in spite of my concerns
-
Exactly. It's the long-term effects that won't be observed due to the time crunch that worry me. I'll probably get it regardless, I always get vaccines and I understand that the odds are very high that extended testing and time would not reveal any sort of long-term consequences. At the same time, I think it's a valid concern and wouldn't fault someone for using it as a reason to not get it. Anti-vaxxers, on the other hand, are a whole other story
-
But if that were the case, I think the connections would be coming from Bob Nightengale and verified reporters like that, not from random burner accounts

"Drunk driving is cool, snowflake" is such an appalling position to take, and the amount of people going with it (more so on Twitter than ST) is discouraging -
Braves sign Drew Smyly, 1 year $11 million

A bit, sure, but Pomeranz at least had a track record of health. I didn't think his deal was as outrageous as this one, primarily for that reason.
