  1. There also has been a lot of "It's not a big deal that he drives drunk, YOU do it all the time too, hypocrite!" which is an unbelievably stupid way of admitting that they drive drunk themselves
  2. Bochy, Espada, or Sam Fuld are the main three I could see taking that spot
  3. Bauer says towards the end of the video that the fact that any FA (such as Stroman) flat out won't sign with your team because of your new manager means it might not be the most effective hire. At 18:06, he says "I'm not part of the White Sox... perhaps I will be, at some point later this offseason, perhaps I won't" so I need a body language expert to tell me if he's interested haha
  4. I’m still waiting for the three headed monster of Levine, Nightengale, and Sullivan to tell us how we’re all overreacting and that this isn’t a big deal, he’s a respected guy, just misunderstood.
  5. So it seems like people are getting the same general response "I understand your frustration - We have great players - Thanks for reaching out"
  6. Right, I'm not sure what people are waiting for. We've already heard everything the organization has to say. They're just hoping this won't be a topic of discussion when the season rolls around
  7. Just curious, have any of you who emailed or called the Sox gotten a response?
  8. The organization said they can’t comment further on an ongoing case, so I wouldn’t expect anything from them regardless
  9. Probably not, but it would be hilarious now so I'm rooting for it. Agreed that Cash probably gets it
  10. He'll love it even more when he wins AL Manager of the Year tomorrow night
  11. Thursday. I bet one of the first questions will be "have you spoken yet with Tony La Russa?' and he'll give the same answer as TA
  12. We already were told from Reinsdorf that he won't be fired or punished. As for the idea that he'll resign because he doesn't want to be a distraction, which I've seen a lot of people suggest, I'll just advise that you don't do that to yourself. It would be fantastic, and it's the right thing to do, but we're stuck with this guy, and I don't see a reason to try and believe otherwise. Of course, I hope I am wrong
  13. Twitter should have never made him above the law in the first place
  14. I know others have said similar, but this has been a great thread. I've really enjoyed the civil discussions I've had with people I don't agree with politically, both in the thread and in messages as a result of the thread. I completely understand why the buster is unlikely to return, but this thread might be an example of how it could potentially work. I've learned a lot about people's differing perspectives in a much more civilized manner than anywhere else on the internet
  15. Biden expected to speak any minute
  16. It truly terrifies me that so many of these deranged domestic terrorism threats are police officers
  17. Thank you. I obviously don't 100% agree, but I understand your point of view and appreciate the response
  18. It just seems like an impossible ask. Corporate interests and capitalist media are just too massive to effectively counter in the short-term. I mean, Sanders was leading the primaries after Nevada, and MSNBC of all organizations was literally comparing him and his supporters to Hitler. By the time we reach the point you're referring to, I'm not sure the planet will even be largely inhabitable. Genuine question for you, and/or @Soxbadger, and correct me if my assumption is wrong: Why do you look at these election results and think "good, the Democrats made the right call, no other candidate could have done this"? Yes, Biden is going to win, but he's eking out a victory against a consensus bottom-five president in U.S. history. Yes, much of that is due to the outdated electoral college, but nevertheless, the relatively narrow margin of victory is one that I would be embarrassed or at least uneasy about if I were a Democrat, not one that I would be proud of.
  19. But remember, we were crazy and overreacting when La Russa couldn't name anybody on the roster and Steve Stone was tweeting that if he were manager, he would be getting to know his players
  20. Yup. Liberals hate us (and vice versa, in a lot of cases) which is why I find it funny when everyone tries to lump us together as equals
  21. Right, so not Democrats, and not the people who led the Russia allegations
  22. What do you think a leftist is? You keep using that word to describe Democrats
