  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:32 PM) Jackson is just horrible That wasn't really his fault..
  2. Chuck GarfienVerified account ‏@ChuckGarfien "Inside Look: Hector Sanchez" coming up next week on @CSNChicago.
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 5, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) How long of a distance? I met my wife on match.com when I was living in Oak Park and she was living in Indianapolis. We e-mailed and talked on the phone for a month before deciding to meet in person, but the distance was close enough that we were able to visit each other just about every weekend before deciding to get married. I'm a junior in HS. Girl is into me and I think I am also into her (she is a Sox fan and literally can recite Sox player stats/sabermetrics AND is pretty. Too good to be true right?). Problem is that she is a graduating senior who will go to college in Louisiana, and there's like, a 1% chance I go to college there. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:34 AM) Its probably better nowadays but I had one in college that was a disaster. She was in AZ and I was in OH. Jealously, cheating etc was awful. If I could go back i wouldnt have done it. Lots of fish in the sea This is on par with what I usually hear. I don't think cheating would be as much of an issue with this girl, but I could see jealousy (both ways). In the age of the smartphone and near-constant communication, I'd hope that some of these problems are less prevalent now. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:59 AM) You're about to graduate HS right (if I'm remembering correctly)? Long distance in college is just not smart, I did it for my first year and a half and I wish I had that time back. You both need to be on the same page and that becomes so hard when you are learning about yourself. Yes, I graduate in May 2017 and the girl graduates in a couple weeks. It seems like a horrible idea, but we have so much in common and it would be hard to not try to make something work.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 5, 2016 -> 07:54 AM) I start at 7:25 and get out at 2:15. It sucks to have to wake up at 5:45, but at least I get home pretty early compared to some other schools. Just 9 more full days and I'm done. Praise the lord. What?? Start at 8. get out at 3:20, and I have like, 20ish days left...
  5. Opinions on long-distance relationships?
  6. A huge Cubs fan willing to buy a Sox shirt...? red flags all around!
  7. QUOTE (ron883 @ May 4, 2016 -> 09:34 PM) You'll see, I'm going to be right. Abreu can't lay off the breaking ball outside. I'm going to bump this up when he is in a slump, and I'll bump it at the end of the year when he puts up his worst year yet statistically. Abreu has never been able to lay off that pitch. This isn't some new revelation
  8. QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 4, 2016 -> 01:51 PM) That's pretty cool. I can't remember how AP exams work. As a teacher, do you schedule the test time? Or is it set by the AP folks? I ask because showing up 1.5 hours before school starts seems pretty early. If I was in your class, I'm not sure my brain would be fully functioning that early in the day. It's set by the AP folks.
  9. QUOTE (Tex @ May 4, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) Really? Most of our teachers do a little something when it is "their" test. AP Chem was nothing, AP Spanish gave us a free do-nothing period since we had the class directly after the AP test, and AP Psych I took first semester so I didn't have the class anyway
  10. QUOTE (Tex @ May 4, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) My AP students needed to be at school about an hour and a half early to take the AP test today. The other AP teacher and I hosted a tailgate party with breakfast in a quiet corner of your parking lot. It was pretty cool. What?? I've taken 3 AP tests in 3 days and my teachers couldn't care less.
  11. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 4, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) +1, it's not nearly enough of a big deal to justify the constant b****ing about it, especially considering it's preaching to the choir here, we all likely go to as many games as we can. Exactly. I'd love to go to every home game, but between school and work, I have to wait until June/July to start going to every series.
  12. Oh my god, it doesn't even matter anymore. Revenue is collected from different resources nowadays
  13. QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ May 4, 2016 -> 12:41 AM) Jordan Danks played for the Phillies last season. I wonder if he landed anywhere this season? He was on the Rangers in the Spring and was released in early April.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2016 -> 07:16 AM) Yeah, I was screening for LH hitters specifically....that took out the closest competition in Dexter Fowler, etc. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting/_/sort/WARBR/order/true Currently at 2.2 with Arenado at 2.0. Ten other players from 1.9-1.5, including the unforgettable Aledmys Diaz. Where do the Cardinals always find guys like that seemingly every season? Hazelbaker? It's uncanny. Hey, we found Quintana!
  15. Interesting, as the only non-Sale related LaRoche drama I heard of was Rollins complaining about Drake.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 3, 2016 -> 10:21 PM) Who's the dude with the Q run support avatar? It's the best. You requested my presence?
  17. QUOTE (Condor13 @ May 3, 2016 -> 04:25 PM) Game 28 s*** Sox @ Real Sox (Tuesday) 2 points for everyone who picks today. Man I'm so happy they DFA Danks Eaton (4): Rollins (3): Abreu (1): LTBF Frazier (1): Melky (3): Avi (3): Lawrie (3): Condor13 Catcher (3): Jackson (3): Jose Abreu
