  1. Rodgers' whining about the coin flip is irritating, as is McCarthy stating "I don't know what a catch is anymore" when the call went in favor of his team... they lost fair and square.
  2. *Gordon signs* Something HAS to happen with Cespedes now! *Giants sign Span, putting them out of the running* Something HAS to happen with Cespedes now! *Orioles sign Davis, likely putting them out of the running* Something HAS to happen with Cespedes now... right?
  3. QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN Chris Davis contract structure: $17m annual salary 2016-2022. Annual payments $3.5m 2023-32, then $1.4m 2033-37. No interest on deferrals. Bobby Bonilla
  4. Orioles reporter: Steve MelewskiVerified account ‏@masnSteve 9m9 minutes ago It's clear some of you still badly want Cespedes. It just seems very unlikely to me now. Still need pitching by the way.
  5. Mark Lazerus ‏@MarkLazerus 4h4 hours ago Patrick Kane leads the NHL in goals, assists and points. Artemi Panarin leads all NHL rookies in goals, assists and points.
  6. Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 9m9 minutes ago The #Mets and #Whitesox each interested in Cespedes if he accepts short-term deal Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 3m3 minutes ago Doesn't seem like Cespedes will get 5-6 year deal from anyone. White Sox could be in good position if he's willing to drop asking price.

  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 11:17 AM) Is this the biggest thread in the history of this forum? Tanaka edit- nevermind, this just passed that, but there still may be bigger ones
  9. I hope we do sign him, but I think he goes back to the Mets.
  10. He sucks against the AL, but he does have a 1.50 ERA against us (in one start).
  11. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 11:22 PM) What exactly do you mean by this? I'm not following. I mean that there is a scenario where he is worse than an elite closer. I think he ends up as a solid #2 starter, but it is possible for him to be worse than an elite closer.
  12. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 07:53 PM) Kane passed Ovechkin , now the leading goal scorer in the NHL. 28/39/67. Leads the league in all 3. Amazing.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 10:43 PM) I feel as if Fulmer's floor is an elite closer and his ceiling is a solid ace or a great #2 starter. Sadly, nobody's floor is "elite" anything.
  14. I don't want to hear any more of the "Jimmy Butler can't be the best player on a championship team" garbage. He's the second best two-way player in the league, and that's saying a lot considering he happens to be playing at the same time as Kawhi. By the way, the difference between them isn't that large.
  15. Saladino may have 12-16 HR power over a full year, but I think you're all overestimating what his average would be. I'd say something more in the .225-.235 range. I do love his patience and approach, though.
  16. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) Pau is terrible passer and turnover machine. Pau is the third best passing big in the league, behind Noah and Marc.
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 07:28 AM) I think the easy star to pair with Jimmy right now that's actually available is DeMarcus Cousins. Noah, Gasol, Snell, and a pick for Cousins? I don't know if we have the assets to get him. FWIW they do have Belinelli/Gay and other trade chips. Anyway, let me have my fantasy: Rose (34)/Brooks (8)/Moore (5)/Hinrich (1) Butler (36)/Hinrich (8)/Moore (4) McDermott (28)/Mirotic (18)/Butler (2) Gibson (30)/Mirotic (10)/Portis (8) Cousins (36)/Portis (12) Butler (38) Cousins (36) Rose (34) Gibson (30) Mirotic (28) McDermott (28) Portis (20) Hinrich (9) Moore (9) Brooks (8)
  18. $2M is nothing for one year of an outfielder. No reason to be upset.
  19. I'll always remember when Konerko tossed a ball to a kid in-between the 6th/7th innings of a 2014 game, but this guy in his 40s took the ball from the kid. Alexei noticed this, got another ball, and personally delivered it to the kid. Class act, and very consistent numbers from season to season.
  20. He averaged 153 games per year. Not bad at all for the modern era.
  21. QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 10:01 PM) It would be the best offer on the table. Unless someone hits the magic century mark it might get it done, and 95 mill offer gives Sox wiggle room to counter up to 100 mill vs other potential bidders Funny how he wanted what- 6/150?
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) It's a shame that Rose is no longer the player he used to be. We'd have a real shot of winning it all if we had MVP Rose with this Jimmy Butler. Jimmy was the guy we needed back in 2011. Imagine Butler there instead of Bogans. Championship.
  23. 9 game winning streaks in hockey are so impressive. Perhaps more impressive than a 9 game winning streak in any of the 4 major sports. Maybe NFL gives it some competition.
