  1. How many times do you think he'll be called "Lowrie" by posters or Sox beat writers?
  2. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:36 AM) Lawrie is light years better defensively They don't play the same position, and basically anyone is light years better than Garcia defensively. I was just drawing a comparison between two possible pieces of the deal. I know the ballpark effect watered down Lawrie's stats.
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:27 AM) Supposedly MLB Radio said the Sox are giving up Engel, Thompson and Avi. I don't know this report to true so don't freak out but that would be steep. Thompson AND Avi? I thought we'd want to keep one. Guess we'd be going with an OF of Cabrera/Eaton/...Shuck/FA?
  4. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:24 AM) You must general manage the Diamondbacks
  5. Didn't know that Brett Lawrie was the Canadian cover athlete for MLB 14 The Show. Weird that they picked him over Bautista/Encarnacion and company.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:22 AM) Looking at his 14 numbers, he had 12 homers in 70 games. If he had stayed healthy, who knows how many he could have hit. His average was also .025 higher (.247/.272) on the road. Oakland's ballpark clearly had an effect on him.
  7. Is us getting Reddick just speculation or has it been tweeted by a legit source? I know we'd likely be giving up one of Avi/Trayce, but still, Melky/Eaton/Reddit/One of Avi or Trayce/Shuck still seems like one too many.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:11 AM) How many were hit in Oakland? I'm on my way to work so I can't look it up. I will look it up later because I'm curious.I think he can hit 20 with us realistically. .247/6/26 in Oakland, .272/10/34 elsewhere.
  9. Garcia and Lawrie put up very similar power numbers last year. .257/13/59 for Garcia, .260/16/60 for Lawrie
  10. His defense at 3B is an improvement over Gillaspie/Olt, and his offense, despite the strikeouts, is an upgrade. Depending on the return, I'm not too upset about this.
  11. I thought Lawrie used to be an elite prospect. Didn't know he wasn't even top-50.
  12. "Death, taxes, and a White Sox/A's trade"
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) Echo what rabbit said. I cleared a bunch of stuff into a separate thread. No wonder I didn't see his post. Thanks a lot!
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) I think it's from when TJ Ward cracked him in the ribs in the Broncos game yes it is
  15. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) Why you repeat my post lol Didn't see it (still don't), my bad
  16. Chris Rongey ‏@ChrisRongey 29m29 minutes ago It is exactly one year ago, to the day, the White Sox won the offseason with the Shark and Robertson deals.
  17. Remember the article proposing Castro/Schwarber for Sale? Nice to know that Castro's worth is Adam Warren
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) Per Google, Google Fiber is exploring expansions into LA and Chicago. Of course, this news comes 20 months before I move from Chicago...
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:57 PM) Even Bruce Levine doesn't think they had much salary too add this offseason. I just dont see it. These seem to be their major moves of the offseason. I'm absolutely estactic for that because I'm not sure they'll be much better. Glad I was right in saying Castro had no value. But... but... Castro and Schwarber for Sale!
  20. I'm just at a loss for words with this return. Shelby Miller is apparently worth the 2015 #1 overall draft pick, the #40 prospect in baseball, and a speedy, .300+ hitter who is elite defensively (3.3 fWAR/5.3 bWAR). Chris Sale must be worth Bryant, Schwarber, Russell, Baez, Soler, Alcantara, Vogelbach, Torres, and more!
  21. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:46 PM) Weird overpay from the team who traded Eaton and Skaggs for Mark Trumbo (a DH in the field and can't put up an OPS as high as Eaton). I'm somehow not surprised. To be fair, they really had to trade one of Eaton or Pollock, and Eaton's value wasn't too high at the time due to injuries and a slight decline.
  22. Wouldn't Saad's agent have a say with that...?
  23. Yikes... that's an incredibly overpay then. Not happy about this one for Arizona.
