QUOTE (rowand's rowdies @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) Greinke has some close friends that own Sportiqe, a sports & music t-shirt company out of Tempe, AZ. They actually have some of the most comfortable shirts you will ever wear. http://sportiqe.com/ Probably a part of the reason, along with the low pressure of the market & huge amount of $$$ why he chose AZ. So, how much were you paid by them to say that?

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) It just occurred to me that LSU might have the first overall pick in both the NFL and NBA draft. That Simmons kid is looking ridiculous. #TankForSimmons2016

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Well, he has complained of arm and elbow soreness at least 2 times during his career, during one of those stints he wound up on the DL for over a month/having an MRI due to elbow soreness in 2014. That's something we haven't said about any of the other guys on our roster any time in recent years. One of those times was purely due to Robin's idiocy. He left him out there for 127 pitches in early April of 2014. He was basically asking for Sale to be sore/injured the next day.

Went from 195 to 206? Ok then... an even higher AAV

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) C'mon. No one gave Ryan Howard that contract this year. And also, no team even bid on Hwang. Samardzija has a $90 million offer, which would make him one of the highest paid pitchers in baseball. Not disputing that Noesi is top-tier in the Korean league. But his contract alone doesn't make him the best.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:48 PM) Don't the Sox also have a not so terrific defense? Whoops, typo. Meant the D-Backs have bad pitching, unlike the Sox.
-
32.5 per. Highest AAV ever.
-
Given that the D-Backs are my 2nd favorite team, I'm pleased. They're the anti-White Sox: terrific offense, not so terrific pitching. A core of Greinke, Goldschmidt, Pollock, and Peralta is comparable to a core of Sale, Quintana, Abreu, and Eaton.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:22 PM) This is just a hard thread to go through when a show you don't like is on and gets talked about. As someone who can't stand the Challenge I get the feelings, but there are other shows that I'm sure me and other posters talked about heavily that were hard to get through for others. Let's just move on and if new threads are desired to separate out larger discussions then let's make sure we are creating them. As someone who dislikes TWD, I hear you

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) He's only averaging 11.1 (48%) with 10.2reb with an 18+ PER Yikes... don't tell that to Mirotic

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:48 PM) i don't understand??? The Sox apparently had a deal in place to trade for Cabrera 7-8 years ago (whichever offseason he was traded). Guillen blabbed about it before it happened. Detroit heard this, and offered the Marlins a better package for him, which they accepted.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:47 PM) Lol, all things considered I would swap Avisail for Trout Come on, you gotta sweeten that up a bit... that's not at all realistic. Garcia for Trout, Calhoun, Richards, and Heaney.

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:15 PM) Hector Noesi just signed to pitch in Korea for $1.7 million making him the second highest paid foreign player (someone is making $1.8). So Hector Noesi, who can't get a starting job in MLB, is arguably now the best pitcher in the Korean league. Hwang's career-year .870 OPS is simply not good. Planning for him to be the everyday 3rd baseman would be very bad and dumb. People shouldn't be rooting for that. I don't think that contract makes Noesi the best SP in the Korean league... that's like saying Ryan Howard is one of the best 1B, Chris Sale is only worth $6 million a year, etc.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:38 PM) Father Time is undefeated Well, he has one loss. Tim Duncan
-
Don't forget the fact that he's 37... he may decline

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) Would he go to Dallas? Pachulia, Justin Anderson, and a 1st rounder. There I just traded Pau. Damn, Pachulia is still in the league?
-
GET THIS OUT OF PHT!!! Oh, wait!
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 10:34 AM) Not if the guy actually hits for power like they are supposed to. I like High K/High BB players that hit a s***load of homers. The problem is LaRoche doesn't do that and Dunn didn't hit enough homers to justify it. I'd absolutely rather have Alvarez or Carter than LaRoche because I'm fairly confident that the latter 2 will actually hit the ball out of the ballpark. Were Dunn's 75 HRs from 2012-2013 not enough?
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 08:56 AM) The Sox haven't announced the deal yet and probably won't until he passes a physical. If* he passes it... recently more players have been failing them. Still rare, but a possibility.
-
Still haven't gotten tired of NHL 16.
-
QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 08:07 AM) I would be ok with that if they took a bad contract back. John Danks anyone? Now that I think of it, John Danks could actually be an ok pitcher in the NL.
-
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 03:03 PM) But he only caught 37 games last year. Avila caught 43. The concern is they are both coming off limited seasons behind the plate. Well, Navarro was kinda stuck behind Russell Martin...
-
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) I voted for the Korean name, but is that the right guy? I think it might be Jae-gyun Hwang.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) I want a reason to buy mlb.com again. My team has replaced Flowers/Soto with Avila/Navarro. To me, a reasonable consumer, that is a very very bad tradeoff. Yuck. Tell me the truth people. Would you rather have Flowers/Soto or Soto/Flowers than these two newcomers? Navarro/Avila is statistically a better platoon than Flowers/Soto... You do know that catching is the weakest position in baseball, right? There are really only a handful of all-star level catchers.
