  1. He reminds me of Viciedo in the sense that the talent is there but he can't use it. Viciedo has one good season (25/78 in 2012), and that's more than Garcia can say. I do remember Avi was one of the league leaders in batting average for the first month and a half until he fell off a cliff. I think his issues are all mental, and that his weight/stance are basically irrelevant.
  2. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 08:28 AM) Sunny with a high of 55 here today. I hate you
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 08:07 AM) No, it was the late 90s when that happened. The early 90s they were on track to do some serious damage until the strike Who knows what that 94 team could have been
  4. Snow tonight/tomorrow along with a low of 9 degrees!!!
  5. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 05:51 PM) Greinke is such a b****. The way he beaned Q and then b****ed about it has always rubbed me the wrong way. Also he says a lot of dumbass s*** to the media about his team and team mates and the opposition and then falls back on the "I'm a misunderstood introvert" BS. No, you're just a dick dude. Yeah, the Greinke/Quentin drama was bad for him, and also misjudged by the media, who didn't seem to know about their history when Greinke was on the Royals and Quentin was on the Sox.
  6. The thing about including LaRoche/Danks in some of these trades is, while you are shedding salary and a bad player, it's taking away from the return you get- especially when they're included in a proposed Sale/Quintana trade. I wouldn't include them in those deals because I don't want to take away from Sale's/Quintana's enormous value.
  7. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) Are people actually calling him that though? I heard a couple guys say it in the preseason and early on in the regular season but not since. Did it really stick? The Blackhawks Twitter calls him that all the time
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 12:48 PM) With the shortage of 3B, he could probably make himself some cash money if he figured out how to be decent there. Easier said than done
  9. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 10:20 AM) I believe this post implied it: I should have quoted it, my bad. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 10:39 AM) I think the question is not really whether Walker is better than Sanchez, it's more is the difference between Walker and Sanchez worth trading prospects away and adding a difference of roughly $9.5 million dollars in salary for a guy with just one year team control? And, in my opinion, the answer to that question is no. Especially when we have other greater needs when could spend that money and those prospects on. Thanks. I know Walker is better, but I don't think 2B should be our concern. 3B is a bigger problem IMO.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) Moore also not playing well. Would love trade Taj for backup guard help. I'm all for trading a big (maybe not Taj, he has been great so far) for a guard/wing, but I think Moore has been great. One bad game doesn't change that. Anyway, I think Gibson has been spectacular. I guess we forgot how he plays when healthy. Last season I was fine with trading him. Now I'm not. I'd trade Gasol (doesn't really fit the system) or Noah (high value right now) before Taj.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 02:02 AM) D-Rose OT game winner in Oakland? QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 12:49 PM) Friday. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 08:47 AM) Friday. Optimistic minds think alike?
  12. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) Can Walker play third by any chance? I know he's been a second baseman for most, if not, all of his career, but I'd go after him if he can make a position change. He has 802 games at 2B and 15 at 3B. I wouldn't do it. It's not like his 2B defense is anything special, and generally, guys who make a position switch to be a third baseman don't do too well defensively.
  13. I had to write an essay mathematically predicting what Derrick Rose's career would be like (written right after his MVP season) in 2011. I saw it today for the first time since I wrote it. This was part of my concluding thoughts. Sad.
  14. QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 08:20 AM) Not sure either 2B is all that passable. Even with his defense last season, Sanchez had a -0.2 fWAR and Micah had a -0.4. Walker, by comparison, had a 2.4 fWAR. I would say a 2.5 win improvement is probably worth $10 MM. WAR is a cumulative stat, so you can't compare Walker's to Sanchez's or Johnson's because they didn't get as much playing time. Sanchez's war was negative because of his atrocious home/first half hitting. He seemed to figure it out by the end of the year. If given a full season, I think he could put up a positive WAR.
  15. Panarin is 30th in goals, 6th in assists, and 4th in points.
  16. Kane now leads the league in goals, assists, and points (13/17/30).
  17. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 12:32 AM) Dellin Betances and Shawn Tolleson were better pitchers in 2015 according to 2 writers....A couple thought Marco Estrada was better..... Holy f***, ban those writers immediately. Yeah, Marco Estrada and his 4.40 FIP for Cy Young!
  18. Blowing a 17-point 2nd quarter lead but winning a nailbiter is so Bulls. Get ready for your first loss, Warriors.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 07:50 AM) http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/no...ark-shot-police I'm sorry, I don't give a f*** if you're black, white, or anything else, you interfere with paramedics working on a guy you just beat up, you're going to get shot. If you think this is racial then you are the problem and not the police. This.
  20. Didn't Samardzija speak out against the Cubs at some point while he wasn't on their team?
  21. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) Are you kidding me? I'd take a 3rd for Daley and call it a day, easy. My bad, I meant as the Hawks I would do it. I was being sarcastic. Way too high of an asking price
  22. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 04:32 PM) No idea. The two teams I've been told the Cubs have spoken to specifically are the Indians and the White Sox. https://t.co/lZXrenKF5p https://twitter.com/JulieDiCaro/status/667062207369388032 @JulieDiCaro @jgaepi so the White Sox have talked to the cubs about Baez and/or Soler? https://twitter.com/whisox05/status/667066288280240128 @whisox05 @jgaepi Don't know what names were discussed on the Cubs end. The discussions were about pitching. Assume Quintana was the target. https://twitter.com/JulieDiCaro/status/667106773996843009 Ran across the tweet. I tweeted her and she replied back. Interesting... maybe we talked Quintana/Schwarber?
