  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 01:46 PM) Interleague 2.32 era 0.951 WHIP. Career 2.43 ERA 1.033 WHIP But half of those IL starts are at home, where the pitcher has to bat.
  2. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 12:45 PM) I am sure they saw that comment above. Great. My point is that I know Kershaw is the best pitcher in baseball (and obviously better than Quintana), but I don't think I'm "nuts" for thinking that his ERA would be 2 or higher if he had to face a DH instead of a pitcher once every 9 batters. He'd still be the best, and his ERA probably would be close to 2, but it would surely increase.
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 10:03 AM) Kershaw is the best pitcher in baseball. It's not really that close either. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 11:58 AM) lmao you are nuts. Kershaw is crazy dominant See the comment below. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) Kershaw is clearly the best pitcher in baseball, but I don't think it's at all crazy to suggest he wouldn't have an ERA under 2 in the AL. I very much doubt that as well.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 11:51 AM) Apparently they are going through the building firing others as well Coaches, janitors, everyone!
  5. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 09:46 AM) I think it is a non-story in about six months. Fans of the 29 other NHL teams will consider it a story for the rest of his career.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 09:30 AM) No chance, and if they do, good for Alexei. I'm not saying it's likely, but I meant a team like the Dodgers/Yankees/Red Sox if they needed a SS, or even a 2B/CF, where he played in 08.
  7. QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 09:18 AM) Trolling? Nope. If Kershaw pitched in the AL, there's no way he'd have multiple seasons with an ERA under 2. He'd still be better than Quintana, though.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 09:15 AM) I agree he's not terrible, and I'm perplexed by those who would rather go with Saladino or Sanchez there. That said, because he had a down year and is a 34-year old shortstop, teams will be skeptical. That's why I really don't see him getting $10M/year or more. I agree, but I could see a big market team giving him a ridiculous contract, like 3/36.
  9. Yeah, while Kershaw is overrated and has such a low ERA due to his pitching in the NL (no DH), he's still better than Quintana. If you really want to argue for a Sox pitcher being better than him, go with Sale.
  10. QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 08:11 AM) I think he'll be up next year at some point, especially if the team is playing well Maybe in September, but I think that his defense, while improved, isn't MLB ready.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 08:00 AM) I'd add Tortola (BVI) to that list too. I agree with the sentiment about San Juan. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's not really Caribbean or unique. It's like a hot US city that speaks Spanish. Probably because that is, essentially, what San Juan is
  12. Bulls/Thunder tonight. OKC 137 CHI 108 Seem reasonable?
  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 08:03 AM) I just watched a video on csn Chicago. They had a guy on there while talking about the Sox and Alexei's option not being picked up and the dumbass said Anderson is 2-3 years away. I think Anderson is two years away. 2017.
  14. I know I was the one who pointed it out, but it was an honest mistake. No need to take it any farther.
  15. You have your Guthrie's mixed up- this one's Jeremy, not Mark. And damn, Infante's contract is so ugly.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 08:40 PM) And, hitting 8th for your 2016 Chicago White Sox, from the University of Georgia, starting shortstop Gordon Beckham. Cue tired out walk-up music and Hawk adulation. Perhaps the worst part of that was "hitting 8th"
  17. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 07:34 PM) Yeah, it seems like that's how it usually works out when teams try to solve their problems by signing them. Mark Teahen
  18. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) Holy f***. BEST NEWS EVER! Dude is likely to be a 1 WAR player next year. Chicago has plenty of middle infield options that will cost nothing that can put up 1 WAR. Time to see if Saladino or Sanchez can cut it there. Hate to burst your bubble, but this doesn't mean he won't be returning, and it's actually likely that he does return.
  19. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 04:54 PM) If he didn't play us, imagine how awful his numbers would be. People say this somewhat jokingly, but he has 82 RBIs against us. The team he has the 2nd most RBIs against? The Royals- 25 RBIs.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 05:18 PM) He hasn't been good since the 2011-2012 season. While a lot of that is injury related we haven't seen a good Derrick Rose for 3 1/2 years. I'll believe he can actually be good again when I see it. To be fair, we hold him to a higher standard due to his MVP year. His 2014-2015 season was certainly good.
  21. The new COD comes out soon. Anyone getting it? I probably won't- I haven't been a fan since Black Ops 2.
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 11:43 PM) 1. I don't know why I'm going down this road 2. I don't even know why I'm in PHT to begin with, but.... You want a power bullpen and your first move is moving Danks to the pen? Just curious- given that you're a longtime member who has many posts (so therefore has been active), why don't you ever go in PHT?
  23. Went to San Juan in 2010. It was nice, but there wasn't any restaurant or sightseeing opportunity I'd recommend. I basically just stayed by the beach/pool the whole time.
  24. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 01:36 PM) Bill Simmons had an idea on twitter: Joakim Noah to the Celtics for Avery Bradley and Tyler Zeller. I'd make that deal. Same, but the reason for trading Noah is to free our lineup of so many bigs. I don't think we'd need/want Zeller in that deal.
