  1. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 06:27 PM) Also, our ERA-FIP gap used to be much larger. The difference is now only 0.16, less than the Phillies, Rockies, Tigers, Nationals, and Padres. We're far from having the biggest gap, it's largely closed over the past couple of months. Thanks Saladino, Sanchez, and Thompson!
  2. If he's really not gonna be on the playoff roster, they might as well trade him to us and let him finish his career here...
  3. Buehrle is scheduled to pitch two innings tomorrow (to get to 200 on the season), and then retire. He will not be part of the Toronto Blue Jays playoff roster. source
  4. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 07:58 PM) Not sure if this has been discussed but I heard today from a friend of mine who works for the Sox and he said Hahn is going to make a big play for Todd Frazier People have been saying that he has been terrible lately, but other than that, it hasn't really been discussed
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 04:17 PM) Good there will be at least a couple of important games tomorrow. Starting all of the games at 2:10 central tomorrow was a good idea. Very interesting idea, and it looks like it will work out.
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) That ending....wow Incredible.
  7. Brantly batting ahead of Garcia, Olt, and Sanchez? But he's so much worse than them
  8. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 10:34 AM) I would never trade Sale to the Cubs for anything because it would make me so sad to see him having all that success in their uniform. I'd trade him to any other team before the Cubs and Yankees IMO. You wouldn't trade Sale for Schwarber, Torres, Bryant, and Baez? I see your point but if they make a "too good to refuse" offer then I'd take it.
  9. Let's not discredit the Giants' roster. Bochy is an incredible manager, but they were way more than just Bumgarner and Posey on the field.
  10. QUOTE (Whitey @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 08:58 AM) Every hypothetical trade scenario I see with Sale involves another team emptying their farm system. Which no team is willing to do. Agreed. The hypothetical trades are either that or an extremely underwhelming return. Sale is a once in a generation type pitcher. I wouldn't trade him for prospects, unless there are lots of them and they come from the Dodgers or Cubs.
  11. The U.S. and Canada are enough for me
  12. Not quitting per se, but moving to an ambassador role.
  13. I have a feeling Sale gets lit up by this lineup.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) He was being interviewed during media day and was joking about how he can play point guard. He may not need to joke. Buckets is such a great teammate and just awesome. He wasn't joking. This was mentioned right at the start of the offseason too. He actually trained to play PG this offseason.
  15. QUOTE (shysocks @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 02:50 PM) A couple seasons ago he had shoulder surgery. I'm not aware of a previous knee issue. That's what I was thinking of. My mistake. I do remember it happened towards the end of the season like this one.
  16. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 10:41 AM) McGwire did it too He had 3 home runs and 9 runs batted in in his first season.
  17. Knee surgery again? Didn't he have this a couple offseasons ago?
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 09:18 AM) From the Puck Daddy article I linked above: I see your point, but the fact that he makes less and less money as his production will likely decrease makes logical sense. I think he will perform in line with his contract, and his age-39 season will be worth the diminished money he will make.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 09:12 AM) There is zero chance they will get rid of the fundamental deck. It is one thing that separates USCF from other parks. Kids love it. I have seen the HR derby most games I have attended this year. Really? I've been to 20 games and I've seen the HR derby game no more than 5 times.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 08:48 AM) They strayed away from promoting the fundamentals deck this year. Wonder if that'll get changed up. Good point. They've barely promoted it at all or even done the kid HR derby anymore- perhaps it will be gone.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 1, 2015 -> 08:39 PM) Patrick Kane - 25 years old when signed Jonathan Toews - 26 years old when signed Brent Seabrook - 30 years old When signed Those 4-5 years make a HUGE difference I'd argue that in hockey, they don't make much of a difference, as longevity is not as much as an issue as it is in other sports.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 07:26 AM) That also means he's getting an extension. Lollllll this franchise Didn't they agree to an extension prior to the 2014 season? Was it only two years?
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 07:26 AM) Interesting note about Parent likely being replaced with a Spanish speaking bench coach. Anyone got any ideas on who could fill that role? Would love to add a guy with previous manager experience to help Robin with the in-game stuff. Ozzie Guillen. Kidding, obviously, but he perfectly fits your description- former manager, Spanish speaker
