His Name Is Lazaro Robersy Armenteros Arango Or Simply "Lazarito&

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 05:21 PM) I'm sorry, but I doubt this kid is 16. He's probably 18 or 19. There is no 16 year old I know that is built like that. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:50 AM) There's a kid from Hinsdale South named Josh King. He's the #1 DE recruit in the country. He won wrestling state at 220 last year as a Junior. He's 17 and is 6-6 250. He is massive. 17 so a tad older, but he definitely looks similar. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:52 AM) Throw a 16 year old Greg Oden into that mix as well. Zach Randolph also looked about 22 when I met him at 16 years old as a Soph in HS. Yup. Hell, I'm this guy's age and I'm taller than him. I don't doubt him being 16. -
Lmao, no, just no. He's so underrated. People look at his full season stats and think that's indicative of what he'll amount to. I'd argue that his stats since August are closer to what he'll really end up being.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 09:40 AM) No contradiction. He's a "keeper" in the sense that he's a decent baseball player. I hope the Sox trade him because he's not as good as his numbers, he'd return value and you can't build a team trading prospects only. A keeper is someone you keep, not trade. So I think it was a contradiction. But that's just me. And I disagree, I do think he is as good or better than his numbers.
-
Santiago being an all-star was a fluke. He's the same old wild, 100 pitches thru 5 innings Santiago. We won the trade.
-
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:16 AM) Eaton has good numbers. Indeed he is a keeper…One that I hope that the Sox trade. You just contradicted yourself. Is he a keeper or not?
-
Oh, and I still don't know how he was a gold glove finalist last year. I didn't think his defense was that good.
-
His defense this year has been much worse than it was last year, but I don't expect that trend to continue. He's hitting .332 since the ASB. That is what raised his average so much. I remember last year he was hitting about .297 on the last day of the year. Went 3-3 by the 6th inning, average was .300, and he was pulled instantly

What a crazy few days.

This is probably Sale's worst season so far. It also happens to be his most hyped/popular one. -
I hope it has the Instant Action game mode. That was my favorite. (not online)

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) This conversation has been had in other places. Rodon's ceiling is a workhorse version of Chris Sale. Fulmer's is probably more like Jose Quintana. While I think Fulmer has a chance to be very good, Rodon has a chance to be a star. Agreed. Rodon's ceiling is a perennial all-star like Sale. While I do think Fulmer will have a good career, I think Rodon will have an incredible career.

Some disturbing Sox numbers…yet the status quo remains

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 04:10 PM) No? Then explain the league's worst offense, near-worst defense, the mediocre at-best pitching (overall), the horrific baserunning, etc. That takes more than just "clunkers" and "holes" here and there to accomplish that. I mean, c'mon - don't put lipstick on this pig! There are a few bright spots on this team, to be sure, but the fact of the matter is, the talent level isn't as good as you suggest. Not at the moment it's not. 8th highest pitching fWAR in baseball out of the 30 teams... 3rd best rotation in terms of fWAR in baseball... We do have talent. However 75% of it is pitching, and 75% of our pitching talent is in our rotation. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 02:11 PM) NL Wild card game at 7:08 PM on October 7. Blackhawks home opener and banner raising at 7:00 PM on October 7. My buddy that I'm going to the Hawks game with is a huge Cubs fan and season ticket holder. Should be interesting (especially if they somehow catch the Pirates, which I doubt) Ha, even when the Cubs win, they lose

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 01:51 PM) Where do the Bears have solid, young talent right now? The only name that comes to mind is Kyle Long. Alshon? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 12:24 PM) Not really. Not at all actually. It might mean they think he is innocent, or it might even mean they think he is guilty, but it can't be proven enough to take a PR hit for playing him. How? (bold)
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 12:22 PM) Were Blackhawks front office members in the room at the same time? If not, they don't know anything for sure. Allow me to rephrase. It tells me that they know he cannot be proven guilty.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 12:19 PM) Cutler is the best QB in the history of the franchise. That really doesn't mean what it should mean though. It's really sad to think about at first. Then you realize we've had guys like Sayers, Payton, and Forte to carry the offense. We've never been a team with a top-tier QB. -
All of this talk on the Kane case has me thinking- Why have we not heard anything about the Rose accusation? I know it totally seems like a money-grab, but nobody has talked about it in a while.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 12:18 PM) how would the blackhawks know that Kane is innocent? They certainly know more than we do. Kane's legal team is surely filling them in on everything. They must know that there's no way he can be proven guilty. The Hawks are smart and are very concerned with their image- they wouldn't let Kane play in the preseason and then take heat for it once he's proven guilty.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 12:16 PM) But once again, for what? He is not charged with any crime at the moment. There is literally no way they can suspend or sit a player forcefully without actual charges. The Hawks could simply not play him if they wanted.
-
The fact that the Hawks are playing him in the preseason games tells me they know he's innocent. If he were actually guilty, there's no chance they would even put him on the ice.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 11:56 AM) I continue to think it's also very smart to get him throwing extra innings at this time of year to stretch his arm out on the off chance that he is needed in a playoff run during these next couple years. This is endurance training. Agreed. Shutting down pitchers should only be a thing when they're sore and the team is out of the race, they're recovering from a major injury and the team is out of the race, they're rookies not used to throwing so many innings. As far as I know, Sale isn't sore or pitching through an injury, so we should let him pitch. Endurance training, like you said.
