  1. I personally think Sale should finish #2 at the worst in the voting. Sadly, ERA is weighted too high by the voters for that to happen. The advanced stats are all in his favor.
  2. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 11:42 AM) Anyone else not have a good feeling about Sale tonight? I hope he puts on his big boy pants and doesn't fall apart against a good offensive team I recall a big start in 2012 where he straight-up dominated the Yankees. IIRC he's pretty good against better teams. That being said, he hasn't been nearly as sharp lately as he was earlier this year, so I don think it's fair to not have a good feeling about him tonight.
  3. *Sees the word "Cuban"* *eagerly waits for news of us signing him*

Ruxin was far too restrained in The League last night. He makes 5+ Pete/Kevin dick jokes per episode,
  5. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 12:11 AM) Last year both teams were garbage. This year, we're garbage and the Cubs are great. Whatever it takes, right? Yeah, bringing cheetahs to games is why they'll make the playoffs
  6. Just so we're all clear here, Geovany Soto is hitting .227. edit- .223 actually. my bad. and Flowers is at .224.
  7. Joe Maddon brings cheetah to cubs game!!!!11 Another amazing example of Joe keeping the clubhouse loose!!1! This is truly revolutionary managing!!!!111!!!!!11!
  8. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 05:43 PM) And how do the 17 million dollar man's numbers stack up? Who?
  9. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) This has nothing to do with Sale, but would you guys do a Quintana for Seager deal? I think I would. I love Q, but Seager looks like a stud and he plays third base, which is a black hole for the Sox. I would, but the Dodgers wouldn't although it is pretty fair.
  10. Wtf happened today? Sincerely, someone who hasn't had internet all day until now

This was the bump of all bumps.
  12. I love Sale as much as the next poster, but there's no way he finishes top three in Cy voting.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 02:16 PM) :crying :crying MAKE THE SALE TRADE THREADS STOP! this.
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 22, 2015 -> 10:17 PM) Ben Zobrist is a bad idea all around. Thank you. I agree. I really hope we don't sign him.
  15. I don't get all the Norris soft-tosser comments. I saw him hit 95 a few times tonight.
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 22, 2015 -> 04:33 PM) Maybe Fulmer-Plouffe is a little light on the Sox end but Plouffe hits 20 HR/year in Minnesota and has taken big strides forward on defense. Yeah, Plouffe is a good player, there's no denying that. He could be a good fit here as our 3B. But I wouldn't trade Fulmer for him.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2015 -> 04:19 PM) I will say this much. The pending free agent who best fits the White Sox needs right now is a guy that hasn't been talked about at all. That name is Matt Wieters. His health issues concern me.
  18. Yeah, I don't think Fulmer for Plouffe is fair to the Sox. I also think Quintana is worth a little more than Swihart/Marrero/Kelly. He's a #1/#2 starter on a cheap contract. His value is more than just Swihart and a couple throw-ins. I know Swihart is a top-20 MLB prospect, and he's a good centerpiece for Quintana, but I think Boston would have to throw in another top-100 guy or two.
  19. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 22, 2015 -> 12:25 PM) So Garcia is quickly reaching bust status but the guy who's older than him, put up inferior numbers than him in the minors and has had nothing more than a cup of coffee in the Majors isn't? How does that work? This love affair with Trayce Thompson is getting a little ridiculous. At the beginning of this year the consensus was pretty much he could be a 4th outfielder at best. Now all of the sudden some act like he's the next Mike Trout or something. I agree that Thompson is being overhyped. However Garcia is more of a "bust" (too early but whatever) right now because he was actually a top prospect, while Thompson was never really a highly touted prospect.
  20. Interesting question. I think one may be traded this offseason.
