Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 9s9 seconds ago Extremely limited sample size but so far Trayce Thompson is 7-for-13 against right-handed pitchers. -

Abreu's on a little hot streak -
Saying they would be under .500 in the AL is a bit of a stretch, but I do think their record would be worse.

Our run differential is extremely skewed. We have had many losses of the 10-1, 7-0 variety, while most of our wins have been rather close. Our run differential is so bad because when we lose, we tend to lose by a lot. -
QUOTE (Vance Law @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 04:02 PM) So it's the actual jersey that affects players hitting is your theory? The players play great for all the other teams but my favorite team is CURSED just to punish only me?!? No. I'm just saying that in recent history, us signing old hitters has not gone well.

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) Is this from some article? Or is this more insider-isn knowledge? Insider-ish knowledge

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) 2015 wRC+ Jose Abreu 135 Ben Zobrist 131 Adam Eaton 112 (Sox 2nd best hitter this year) Sox 3rd basmen 65 (approx.) I know how he's doing in 2015. Remember how Adam LaRoche did in 2014? And you didn't answer my question. Maybe he'll go to the Yankees and do great. But if he comes here, I don't see him doing well.

If there's one player we need to be healthy the most this season, it's Jeffery. Toss-up with Forte, I suppose.

Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 2m2 minutes ago #WhiteSox for 9/9: Eaton 8, Saladino 5, Abreu 3, Cabrera 7, Garcia DH, Thompson 9, Ramirez 6, Sanchez 4, Flowers 2. Samardzija vs. Tomlin. -
What's so bad about Jon Jay?
-
Signing Zobrist to be our starting 3B would not be a smart move. He'll be 35, he's declining, and when's the last time a signing of a 35+ year old for us hit over .250 in his first season?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 10:25 AM) What's different about it? New font, bigger center court logo, removed the basketball from the center logo, added Chicago stars to baseline, changed the wood color, changed the color of the foul line, 3-point line, etc.
-
Not sure if it has been discussed here, but the Bulls completely redesigned their court. Not the best picture, but I can't find a better one.
-
Coming off a nice win which improved my 2015 game thread record to something like 2-9, the Sox look to score 5+ runs in order to have the slightest chance of winning with Samardzija on the mound.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 9, 2015 -> 07:38 AM) Mid December is the baseball offseason (Hot Stove), NFL football, and hoops. I'll be just fine with no baseball for awhile. I already (semi-jokingly) the other sports that go on at the time. However, if you're not a fan of Chicago sports teams in the winter, then I guess you could be more entertained. Anyway, wouldn't you rather be watching a game than following Winter Meetings rumors?

He has posted in other threads lately, though. I hope he is able to update us and his situation has improved.

Talk about thinking outside the box. I don't know about the fairness of the Abreu and Quintana trades, though. I feel like we should be getting a bit more back.

If Rodon of the last 41 innings is the real Rodon, then damn, we have the best SP trio in baseball next year- all lefties too. -

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 10:26 PM) Rodin hit 97 mph on pitches 106 and 107. Then hit 98 mph on pitch 112 to strikeout Kipnis. Wow That's very impressive. -

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 08:10 PM) This is worthy of its own thread. Baseball is my favorite sport. Being in a warm climate I don't watch the NFL and I've been a Colts fan since the post Unitas days. I don't care for basketball and I miss the Blackhawks but after another losing disappointing Sox season you feel empty when it's over. 2005 on the other hand the season was longer and it didn't end until after the parade and you wanted 2006 to start right away. I pissed I missed the AZL Sox win and they are in my backyard. Local baseball is extended around here. You see kids playing night games late in October. I should go watch little kids play. Great post. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96908 -

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 09:14 PM) This is the most inspirational thing I've read all day. So inspirational, I made a thread about it -
Also, Davis hit .196 last year. In 525 PA's.
