  1. 1. Holt 2. Miller 3. Flores (adding him on my own) 4. Gennett 5. Dozier 6. Yolmer
  2. The PH role would be almost exclusively against LHP though. In 2019 he hit .280/.375/.525 against them and for his career he's at .270/.354/.500. The positional concerns are valid, and the reason why I'd prefer someone like Holt
  3. I prefer those guys too. I just don't think Dozier is that bad of an idea
  4. Crushes LHP and would be the everyday 2B until Madrigal is ready, then move into a bench/PH role. Not sure I buy it either, given that guy's track record, but the fit makes sense to me
  5. I don't care about the managers, I care about the prospect of something similar happening again, and the punishment did not do much to dissuade similar future plots
  6. Yes, it wasn't weak from a standpoint of what they could have done, but it was weak in the sense that a World Series championship far outweighs the penalties
  7. Got it, thanks. I just thought it was assumed we already knew MLB was lying, or at least covering something up, due to the weakness of the original punishment
  8. Even if all these allegations are true, why does it matter? What can be done about it now that the investigation has concluded?
  9. Based on 2019, he's definitely taking Cron's 500 PAs. But before this move, I think Sano and Marwin Gonzalez were going to start at the corners for them, so I guess I'd argue that he's taking PAs from Marwin now?
  10. This. The success of the White Sox rebuild is fully dependent on the development of the core pieces. This is obviously not ideal, but it shouldn't have a significant effect on our outlook.
  11. He's not replacing a 0 win player though
  12. I don’t think we’ll see a real response to this until next offseason
  13. Over the past couple of years, Passan has surpassed Rosenthal IMO. Passan is a great reporter and stays out of trouble, while Rosenthal has been parroting what the league wants people to think (as you noted) and has made some uncomfortable statements regarding players with domestic abuse histories (most notably Addison Russell)
  14. Yes, it has been known publicly for awhile that he would be their pitching coach starting this season
  15. Pretty surprising honestly, but in a good way. He was so so bad and I was tired of arguing with people who thought he had all this untapped potential (he might but his odds of achieving it are very slim IMO)
  16. Couldn't agree more. From Houston's perspective, this was all worth it, and if they knew this would be the punishment before the whole thing started, they probably still would've done it.
  17. I don't get the need for a glove-first utility infielder. I think it makes more sense to have a bat-first player in that role since our infield defense (once Madrigal is up) figures to be a strength, not a weakness. If we brought Yolmer or another glove-first guy in, I feel like he would only ever play when there's an injury and during those first few weeks while Madrigal is in AAA. He would never need to sub in late in games because there would be no need to replace one of Moncada, Anderson, or Madrigal.
  18. Out of the players in your first post, I'd take 2019 Moncada over Soto, Acuna, Altuve, and Lindor based on various factors. but primarily fWAR and wRC+. As for the players in your recent post, many of them had a higher WAR than Moncada, but a smaller WAR/162. In other words, Moncada's missed games due to injury were the main reason he was not as valuable as they were, therefore, I'm still comfortable saying he's a better player than them
  19. Moncada was better than half of those guys last year
  20. Yeah, but I think he's gonna have a better year than half of the guys who made it I actually agree with this if you're strictly talking about position players
  21. I was replying to that poster’s comment on Robert. And re: Moncada, I’m not confident that the shredder will include him depending on how much it weighs 2018. Between Arenado, Chapman, Ramirez, Bregman, Rendon, Turner, Machado, Devers, Donaldson, Bryant, and Suarez, it’s not hard to see a scenario in which he gets snubbed
  22. They did CF and LF tonight and both Robert and Eloy missed it. The White Sox never really get represented on these. Based on their criteria, I still would be pleasantly surprised if Moncada makes it even though I think he easily is top 10 at his position
