  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:08 PM) Thompson has way more power I wouldn't say "way" more. He has 44 HRs over the past 3 MILB seasons. Hitting just .240 in that span. I'm sorry but I just don't get the hype over his batting. I know he has a nice, patient approach, but other than that, I don't get it.
  2. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) If what we are seeing tonight and his last start is the real Rodon, he should be pretty effing exciting to watch I can't wait for 2017. Sale Quintana Rodon Fulmer Doesn't matter who #5 is Not to mention, that will likely be Tim Anderson's first year as starting SS. We're doing the opposite of what the Cubs did- we have drafted (sans Quintana, whom we signed) what has the potential to be the best rotation in baseball, while the Cubs have what may one day be the best lineup in baseball. Frankly, I like our route better.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) Thompson has never hit for average. He has drawn some walks in his career. What's he supposed to be? A .280, 20 home run, 80 ribbie ceiling guy with 15-20 SBs? Not flaming, but what does he project as? Kind of a David DeJesus type career? Maybe an Alex Rios clone? I didn't think Saladino was projected to hit for average either. My point is that they seem to have similar swings, good eyes, good patience, and a little pop. That being said, I'd be overjoyed if Thompson ever hits .280/20/80 in a season. With his defense, that would be incredible. I think he is being a bit overhyped, perhaps because of Klay. I see Trayce as a career 4th outfielder, but a solid one. Good defense, decent speed, and maybe a career .245 hitter.
  4. I could be way off on this, but from the eye test, Thompson and Saladino seem like similar hitters.
  5. Fun fact I just learned by checking to see if Sanchez is a natural SS (all I found was that he has played 2B/SS about equally in the minors): Carlos is his middle name. His first name is "Yolmer".
  6. Eaton's BA was over .270 at one point but he's slumping again. Must be the shoulder
  7. Sanchez and Saladino are both natural shortstops, right?
  8. Ok we get it, they both suck
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 08:37 AM) He is only the second Sox pitcher to have back to back 200 k seasons He has 3 in a row, too. First Sox pitcher to do that in over a century
  10. If you want to lose brain cells, read the replies to this comment. https://www.facebook.com/SportsCenter/photo...2%3A%22R9%22%7D Apparently, Sale is barely a top-20 pitcher in baseball. "He's better than top 20 and probably more top 10 but a few I'd prefer over him? Kershaw, Grienke, Bumgarner, Price, Archer, Keuchel, Cueto, Scherzer, Kluber, Arrieta, Gray"

  14. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 8m8 minutes ago Nate Jones has struck out seven over 4 1/3 scoreless innings since he returned. Has allowed one hit. #WhiteSox
