  1. I know, I said that at the end. But to your first point, while he is a quality 3B, Moncada is better (defensively) and it's likely to stay that way as Rendon ages.
  2. If we sign Rendon and move Moncada to 2B I'd obviously be happy since Rendon is elite, and I agree that Moncada is at least good enough to be a regular 2B. But I would rather see Moncada at 3B, Madrigal at 2B, Rendon at 1B, Abreu (eventually Vaughn) at DH, and still go after a Castellanos/Pederson type for RF. Of course, I highly doubt we even are serious about Rendon.
  3. And Moncada, who is younger and was better defensively this season, does not necessarily need to be the one to move.
  4. That's probably what will end up happening. They can't keep him, unless you think they're trading multiple of Betts/Price/Sale/etc.
  5. Unfortunately, I have a hard time seeing many major signings (by any team) that early. I think JDM, Cole, etc. will be signing in February
  6. Sheets and Ian Hamilton. Others would be guys like Lenyn Sosa and Dalquist/Thompson. Would say Stiever but I just don't think he'll be in the organization anymore.
  7. 2 years of Schwarber and 1 year of Quintana for 6 years of Cease? I think you could get that trade done by packaging Stiever and Walker or something like that
  8. Fair point re: pitching for pitching, I was just trying to illustrate that Vaughn isn't the only name that should be included in these hypotheticals. Where we clearly disagree is on Vaughn's timeline. It's certainly possible that he's a few years out, but I expect to see him next season, or April 2021 at the latest.
  9. Then why not trade Madrigal, or Robert, or Cease, or Kopech? Why is it always Vaughn? I'd much rather trade Madrigal if I had to choose between the two
  10. I see it a lot on Twitter too. I really don't get it. He's a top-25 prospect in baseball for a reason.
  11. IMO, that's what we'll see next season. Much better defense, and offense with slight regression but still very good (maybe 115-120 wRC+). 5 WAR.
  12. Anderson is at 3.7 fWAR, Fangraphs is just glitching today.
  13. Castro would be a good fit next to McCann. Longtime Sox target, good behind the plate, and a 100 wRC+
  14. https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2019/9/24/20882632/white-sox-yoan-moncada-plans-to-build-of-2019-success-i-still-know-that-i-can-do-more
  15. He's also gonna hit a lot more home runs, IMO. A small swing tweak and increase in launch angle and suddenly Moncada is a perennial 30-40 HR guy. On another note, he said before the game today that he is going to try to steal more bases next year
  16. If you're trading one of our non-elite prospects for Nimmo, the package probably has to start with Stiever
  17. @Jack Parkman Actually that didn't take long, I think this was it
  18. I think it was in some minor league game thread. I can try to find it later today. All I remember is reading a post of his that mentioned Moncada and making a mental note to not bother him at the end of the season
