  1. 2.5 fWAR for Lopez. Right ahead of Jon Lester
  2. AMAZING series from a rebuild perspective. All the core players played well.
  3. I haven't been able to watch, but has Collins been fine defensively at 1B?
  4. Give him the 9th. They did it with Giolito and he had even more pitches
  5. Eloy is probably gonna end the season with an OPS > .800. Really, really encouraging.
  6. Zack Collins has a .317 OBP despite a .200 BABIP
  7. It's really cool seeing Moncada/Anderson/Jimenez and, to a lesser extent, Collins, have good games together
  8. If Vizquel wasn't Ricky * 100 when it comes to bunting, I would really love it for him to be the next manager. That's a great quote
  9. I knew he qualified as soon as he hit the home run, but my first instinct was to calculate Lemahieu's exact average to see if Tim passed him. You aren't alone! It gives us something interesting to follow for the next few weeks
  10. I'd rather not take the risk of sitting him and then having him get hurt or something with a week left. If he's healthy, he should be in the lineup.
  11. I agree with you, I actually think they'll be reasonably aggressive with Vaughn and that he'll be in MLB by the ASB (assuming he crushes AA, which I think he will with relative ease)
  12. *fast forwards to 8/1/2020 where Andrew Vaughn is slashing .300/.400/.600 for Charlotte*
  13. I can't wait for Anderson to not qualify for the batting title because of the few games where Mendick started over him rather than "Sanchy"
  14. They have a lot of talented outfielders. JD Davis, Jeff McNeil, Michael Conforto, Brandon Nimmo, Dom Smith, Tim Tebow (sorry I had to) and they seem to like Juan Lagares in CF. Even if they don't keep Lagares in CF and they move McNeil to 3B, that's still 4 starting caliber players for 3 spots, so trading an OF is possible.
  15. Who would say no to Stiever and Steele Walker for Nimmo (controlled through the 2022 season)? I know their GM makes some weird trades so it's hard for me to gauge value here
  16. For his rookie season or his career? For his career, then yeah, that would be disappointing, but predicting a .775 OPS from him prior to this season for 2019 would not have been unreasonable at all.
  17. I suppose. If Robert has a 101 wRC+ next season and plays CF as well as we think he can, he's probably a 3 WAR player already. I wonder if that would also be considered disappointing since his offense wouldn't be as impressive
  18. Eloy has a 101 wRC+ in his rookie year. It's hard for me to frame that as a negative
  19. I get thinking that we won't pay up for Cole or Rendon, because I agree, but there's absolutely no chance that Nick Castellanos is "pricing himself out" for the Sox unless you think teams are gonna look at a hot 2 months and fork over $150 million+ for someone who's basically a DH
  20. I'm assuming he means Cease, Lopez, and maybe Jimenez, but I would definitely disagree on Jimenez and would push back on the other two as well.
