  2. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 11:10 AM) I just don't see it, but I will respect yours and everyone opinion on this. His 3.15 ERA is better than Buehrle, Zimmerman, Weaver, Scherzer, Ryu, Shields, Strasburg, etc...
  3. Quintana has the 40th-worst run support in baseball (3.77 runs per game). A lot better than I expected. Last year Sale's was under 3.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 11:04 AM) When is Chris Sale pitching again? Friday
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 10:25 AM) I will say the changes in Miguel Cabrera are interesting, since he was brought up. He had by far his best power years with Prince hitting behind him. Prince left, and he is having his worst year in half of a decade. Detroit says it's due to his offseason surgery
  6. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 10:13 PM) At the very least the Sox are showing potential FAs that they're a few pieces away from being legit. I can see us signing James Shields this offseason
  7. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 10:51 PM) Sox are only -10 in differential. This time last year they were, wait for it... ... wait for it ... -73. 63 run improvement. Good job Hahn. More of the same please. Beckham. Go away. 225 .271 .358 his career OPS now .686 and his OPS+ is 84. It's 75 this year (Darwin Barney levels folks). If he was an elite defender ok whatever, but he's not, he's a solid defender and a putrid hitter. Not a good overall player. Flowers because of positional scaritude is more valuable and should be kept around at least as a backup, but not Gordon. Ditto Viciedo although there is no rush to trade him unlike Gordon he isn't due a raise. Maybe they will just waive Gordon at some point. Trading Gordon now would give Semien/Micah some good experience at 2B.
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 09:45 PM) When is Garcia going to be back? He's probably going on a rehab assignment next week, and a return date could be mid to late August.
  9. 11-4 over Detroit! Quintana gets a W! Averages- Eaton up to .289 Abreu up to .299 Gillaspie up to .327 Flowers up to .246 Discuss.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 09:14 PM) Rajai Davis completely phoned it in tonight A lot of posters wanted us to sign him. Imagine Garcia and Eaton on DL. Outfield of Davis, De Aza, Viciedo. What a defense.
  11. Help me out- try and pick no more than 4 co-players of the game. Quintana and 3 hitters. Eaton/Abreu/Gillaspie? Does Alexei deserve a spot? Flowers?
  12. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 09:05 PM) Well, 40 more walks a year is the difference between being Vlad Guerrero and Frank Thomas. Not that I wouldn't be satisfied with Jose Abreu becoming another Vlad Guerrero, but that doesn't mean that we can't hope for him to become another Frank Thomas. I think Jose can put up better HR/RBI numbers than Vlad, whose best HR/RBI season was 42/131
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 09:05 PM) I just love all the comments on MLB's facebook page when they post a video of Abreu. Half of them atleast are comments on how he needs to be tested for PEDs and the other half are just condemning with no evidence. I've noticed that too
  14. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 09:01 PM) I remember when a couple of people thought he needed a little time in the minors to acclimatise. Imagine Jose Abreu in AAA jesus christ In April: 450 AVG, 22 HR, 58 RBI
  15. "Abreu's good but he doesn't hit for average." He's hitting .299 "He has to walk more" Why should he walk more with a 299/31/83 power line "He sucks at fielding" 7th in baseball for 1st base fld%
  16. "Abreu's good but he doesn't hit for average." He's hitting .299 "He has to walk more" Why should he walk more with a 299/31/83 power line "He sucks at fielding" 7th in baseball for 1st base fld%
  17. 31/83 leads baseball. also hitting .299
  18. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 08:34 PM) What if someone told you before spring training that by the trade deadline Conor Gillaspie would be hitting .328 in the majors and Matt Davidson .199 in AAA I'd never talk to that person ever again. Until now.
