  1. He posted that foul ball on his Instagram story. It looked like it went 500 feet
  2. Goins being 2nd instead of Anderson, who is hitting like .450 this month, might be even worse than Jay (-0.7 fWAR) batting cleanup
  3. Wouldn't be surprised to see Frare up in September.
  4. Not in tonight's lineup. Wonder if he'll be in Charlotte's
  5. I hope it's Skole or Engel but it will probably be Cordell. Will be nice to have Moncada, Anderson, and Jimenez in the same lineup again.
  6. I don't think retirement is on the table at all. He's a 1.5 WAR starter with a good bill of health and a low price tag.
  7. Yes, these days, a ~5.00 ERA and 6 IP/start would be a really solid #5 SP. Nova is at 4.51 with 6 IP/start
  8. Yes, Machado is on pace for a ~3.5 fWAR season which is actually roughly consistent with the value of his contract. Having him at 3B with Moncada at 2B would allow us to trade Madrigal for a controllable SP.
  9. When healthy and rust-free, Eloy has actually been very good this year, and you can tell over the last week or so that his quality of contact has gotten much better. He has had some horrible luck in this Angels series though.
  10. 2012 Trout with fewer walks is actually my high-end comp for him
  11. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates?date=08/16/2019 https://www.milb.com/scores/whitesox/2019-08-16
  12. He's gonna have a 40-40 season
  13. Oh, I'm an idiot and had the wrong dates set. Thanks
  14. For the record I have him at a .306 BABIP over that span, but have the same numbers for everything else. Not sure where you got .390?
  15. Just because Cubans speak the same language as those from other Spanish-speaking countries does not mean that they can all be lumped together as the same. The culture in Cuba, as well as the journey from Cuba to America, are vastly different from the cultures and journeys from other Spanish-speaking countries. It's one thing to think that baseball leadership is overrated, but pretending that a Cuban player offers the same leadership to younger Cuban players as any Spanish-speaking player is just flat out wrong.
  16. Seriously, there's an argument to be made that he's literally the worst pitcher in MLB. I would rather see anybody from the AAA pen
  17. I think that definitely applies to Rutherford, but Sheets has still been pretty decent, and Gonzalez actually got on a hot streak as soon as they left.
  18. For all the incessant complaining about him, you wouldn't think that Eloy is on a 39 HR/162 game pace in his rookie year.
