  1. Yeah, I was probably one of the most vocal posters pre-2018 offseason saying that we would be right there in the mix for Machado, back when most thought we wouldn't even express interest. But I have a really hard time agreeing with the people who think Cole is a real possibility. Yes, we could afford it, but it's all about money as you alluded to and teams like the Yankees will be in the running.
  2. What is the "in anger" part referring to?
  3. The initial updates are really vague but yes, it was not expected to be a quick 10 day trip. I think the wording was "at least 2 weeks" and that was not necessarily for returning to games.
  4. He has reduced his hitch, is being more aggressive early in counts (sort of how Moncada adjusted from 2018 to 2019), and seems to have done something with his hands pre-pitch. They're located differently now
  5. It's that too. I interpreted his message as being aimed at SoxMachine and people with that mentality, but I agree that it applies to people you described too.
  6. The point is that people who take hours out of their days to complain about Kevan Smith, Alcides Escobar, and the Field of Dreams game aren't really fans. If you're gonna complain, at least complain about something that matters
  7. I get why people would be annoyed that he is talking about this in the first place, but he is 100% right that there is a substantial and growing subset of Sox "fans" on Twitter who have seemingly made it their life mission to incessantly whine about every little thing for no apparent reason while completely ignoring anything that is good. I'm not saying that there is no reason to complain, but they take it to another level and his description of them is pretty accurate.
  8. From what you've described so far, the answer is a resounding no (as in no, you are not a jerk), so I'm not sure as to how further conversation could have changed that? I respect that you want to keep it private but I struggle to see what possibly could have happened since that suddenly makes you the bad guy here
  9. I believe his 10 days are up tomorrow but he's expected to need at least another week or two before returning to games
  10. Even with new dimensions I still bet it's gonna be a really high scoring game. I'd almost rather we start our #5 starter because I don't want the game to skew the stats for the rest of them
  11. I remember reading somewhere that it would be Adolfo, Burger, and the 3rd guy is unknown
  12. My irrational fear is that one of the core guys tears his ACL or something because he trips over a weevil
  13. Me neither. Didn’t even know this was a real field
  14. I see. When you do that, it defaults to the last 10 games at his current level, which would be just his 4 games at AAA. To actually include the 10 games (what I did), I just went to his baseball-reference game logs and manually selected the last 10 games, between AA and AAA.
  15. This isn't true. In his last 10 games he's hitting .200/.233/.250, and in his last 15 he's hitting .254/.297/.390. It seems like the point you're trying to make is that he's hitting .133/.222/.133 in Charlotte, but that's 15 at-bats so I'm not sure what the purpose of that point is aside from trolling.
  16. Toss-up between James Dolan and Dan Snyder
  17. I'm just glad the local media has finally dropped the "McCann > Moncada" agenda
  18. They've been pretty watchable this year aside from that 2 week stretch post-ASB
  19. Normally I'd think this is nothing, as the Knights have to get to their opponent for tonight's game. The ONLY reasons I'm posting it are because 1. Why did he delete it, and 2. Since when do AAA players get flights? I thought they took buses?
  20. How has nobody corrected this yet? He has certainly played in the minors, he's already in A+, and barring injuries he'll be our 1B either late next season or early in 2021
